I glued a fighter to each of my damage pegs so that they are easy to put in and out of the base, and now the bases work great for me.

Just wanna say I really love the DFC content. I've been sitting on owning the 2 player box for a couple years now and a friend just recently expressed interest in trying it out so I've been ecstatic to both break it out and watch your videos!

I highly advise you to buy another starter and build another San Francisco Troopship, 2x New Orleans Strike Carriers, and 2x Taipei Missile Frigates. Lastly, it looks like one of your cruisers has medium/heavy cruiser wings, but no underslung weapons systems. I recommend that you turn it into a Madrid Bombardment Cruiser by adding UF-B-8000 Bombardments Turrets. Having at least one bombardment option for certain scenarios is always useful. Otherwise your fleet looks amazing! I applaud you on your hard work painting them up.

One good thing about Armada was that you didn’t have to worry about models much, the Victory could be a myriad of configurations with the upgrade cards. DFC is much more like traditional wargames where you have to plan out what you assemble from the sprues to have specific (and legal) ship configurations.

You have a good looking fleet there 👍. Great tips for new players, does highlight the need to read the fleets descriptions first before jumping in with building ships (which is always the temptation)

I glued my little black pegs on so I can change my spikes and altitute easier. I bought some really tiny dice for damage, that way we won't be confused about a dice having been used for rolling and just forgotten or if it's a damage dice. Good looking fleet btw.

Just magnetized my a set of starter cruisers and it was pretty easy. Used 2mmx0,8mm and 2mmx 1,2mm magnets.

1st: great work - very cool fleet! 2nd: i am coming from old dystopian wars/Firestorm Armada with lots of dice and overall a lot shots. The new version (warcradle) is sh**. Could dropfleet be an adequate replacement? Or is it way more tactical? All thoughts are welcome!

It's a very different scale of gameplay. - This is the spiritual successor of Games Workshops Battlefleet Gothic, if that means anything to you. Crabbok mentioned 'battlegroups' a few times in this video, to put things in context, a battlegroup is about the equivalent of a standard Star Wars Armada fleet. - Typically, you have up to 6 battlegroups in an average game. I kinda like describing X-Wing and Armada being about the tactics, how does that individual ship get into the right position. Dropfleet is significantly more about the strategy, I need a battlegroup to punch a hole in the enemy lines to get my carriers into position to invade that city... Some battlegroups might be better than others, but in a pinch it needs to be *a* battlegroup with what I have on hand.

I have 2 UCM cruisers, 1 battlecruiser (Perth/Johannesburg) and the starter fleet. Magnetized every single exchangeable item... was a huge pain in the ass.
