I'll explain: First of all they may look cute but the relationship is actually dangerously unhealthy to the point of bordering on toxicity for a series of reasons that would be too long to explain here. Second of all Rue - Zendaya's character - , who's also the show's first person narrator, dedicates a whole segment in episode five relating her sexual history to the audience, making abundantly clear that the only encounter she enjoyed was the only one with a girl. A CIS girl. By the way, the trans actress herself passes so well that many cis viewers did not realize she was trans at all until four episodes in, when they were shown her entering the boys' bathroom. Are you REALLY saying that an explicitly HOMOSEXUAL character is suddenly """"bi""" just because they developed a crush on a trans person that could easily pass off as cis? To clarify, I'm cis and straight and so is Euphoria's creator Sam Levinson and you just made yourself look like a gatekeeping TERF, which I don't know if you actually are, considering we can't properly judge people based on two single instances of written word on the internet (there's also the fact that you didn't misgender Jules on purpose). The reality here is that I expressed a fact here and i'm a lesbian, so just like many MANY other lesbians i got called a "terf" just for that. Frankly ? It tells more about you than about me. But you're right about one thing : I haven't watched this show yet, you don't need to have watched it to know that the character of Jules is trans : I saw the trailer back then and on social media it was talked about a lot. The fact that she (Rue) felt attracted to Jules (not knowing about the trans identity) doesn't invalidate her homosexuality, but if she pursued this relationship after knowing about it then it 100% does invalidate it. Either she has internalized homophobia or she is bisexual. I'm a lesbian, i could think that a trans woman who passes is cute but then my initial attraction to the person would disappear, there is nothing wrong with that. You are straight, you wrote it, yet you are telling me what homosexuality is ? Stop a minute and think sincerely about what sexual orientations are. So you're basically gatekeeping women that do not coincidence with your narrow-minded view of your own orientation because you take the insecurities of homophobic and transphobic dudes as 'facts' that cannot be disputed. You get turned off by women with cock? If that's just your taste, that's fine, but don't berate women that do if they tell you that they do not feel the same for men. All of this said, I don't want to erase cis bis and pans (may they be sexual or romantic asexuals) who are into trans people with this essay, keep in mind! I doubt that this comment will make you reconsider your statements, but at least I hope I expressed my perspective properly this time (I'm awful at communication). Tl;dr: I'm still not 100 percent sure if you deserve that negative label but I have my suspicions to think that you do, with all due respect of course.
