'Crack'd' ~ Abstract Fluid Art ~ Crackle Background

Today I am working on a 12'' x 16'' (30 x 40cm) canvas
Pillow:
British Paints (brand name) house paint, low sheen white with nothing added.
Colours:
TLP Lagoon
TLP Lakeside
TLP Ballgown mixed equal parts with Papermill pigments Cyan
Boomgel Stain Pearlescent Teal
Boomgel Stain Lilly Pilly Pink
SUP's & TLP pigments, Tri-Art Acrylics, Amsterdam Acrylics (in some regions), silicone stir sticks and silicone pour mats can be purchased from fluid-art.co/
Liquitex Gouache Bright Aqua Green
Amsterdam Greenish Blue
My pigments and tube paints are mixed with Taubmans untinted (neutral) gloss house paint (water based) and Jo Sonja gloss varnish. In some countries you may need 'Deep Base' you're looking for one without any (or a very small amount) of titanium white, or it will make your colours pastel.

Cell Activator (CA):
Equal parts of Pebeo Paynes Grey and Amsterdam Paynes Grey
Equal Parts of Atelier Titanium White and Amsterdam Titanium White
These were both mixed ONLY with Australian Floetrol (approx 2 - 2.5 parts to 1 part of acrylic paint).

My lazy susan is glass and 20'' which was purchased from Coles supermarket, they can also be sourced from variety/dollar stores and on Amazon. The heavier the spinner, the easier it will spin, I'd also suggest you get the largest one you can so you can easily use it for larger substrates too. I have a 24'' (60cm) wood round placed on top of my lazy susan.
My metal spatulas are artist palette knives, they can all be purchased from fluid-art.co/

Hi Niki, your art work is amazing. I only discovered it recently and have been watching many of your videos eversince. If I had only a fraction of your talent and skills, I would be over the moon. This painting in particular, I liked it better without the crackles and the embellischments. But I guess that is just a matter of taste. 😇

Beautiful center! Something that I like doing with cracks (if this was my piece) is I would take teal and paint it over the cracks, getting paint down in and then wiping it off the white top. (But leaving in the cracks) but fade it out toward the outer edges. I think that technique would be gorgeous on this piece. Just a thought :) as always I enjoy your art and videos! Beautiful as usual. The colours are gorgeous, combine wonderfully, and the crackle effect gives it a different touch. Actually , I like it as is, as it seems to fade towards the edges. The centre is too busy, so more defined crackle would perhaps distract us from the beauty of the main pattern.

Oh Niki, this painting is so beautiful. Beautiful colors and perfect cracks. When I first saw this work of art, I thought, wow, wouldn't it look great on a large wall, or even on a floor and wall. I can see a beautiful blue bathroom with your design running from a side of the ceiling, down the wall, through a claw foot tub, then onto the floor, then going halfway up the opposite wall.
