If it doesn't open he must use the 1st key with the second door. If it opens we conclude that the first key opens the 2nd door. If it doesn't open we can conclude that the first key opens the 3rd for by the process of elimination. Step 2: Now we use the 2nd key with any door other than door which is connected to the 1st key. If that door opens then the we conclude that the door you opened is connected to the second key. If it doesn't open the other door is connected to the 2nd key and the door you opened is connected to the 3rd key. Conclusion: The minimum number of attempts of Marcus is lucky is 2 and if he is unlucky he can so it in 3 attempts
