Wow I feel so blessed, another video so soon! Johnny lightning are quickly becoming some of my favorite cars to collect, with so much cool die cast these days space is becoming limited. I totally think the dioramas are just extra cheese and not needed.

I don’t open everything I get but I do avoid these just because they are so big with all the extra packaging. Like you, I just want the car. No need for the diorama, boxes, or any of the extra stuff that gets added sometimes. Glad to see you back! Hope you continue with more videos!

I think the dioramas are attractive, but wise words mate - I think they are superfluous and would end up collecting dust - good paper weights (for those who still have paper) but I love the aquarium idea! Love the Charger.

I’m with you.. the packaging is pointless. I don’t collect these even for castings I collect because I think they’re too expensive. If I was given one I’d throw the backgrounds in the trash. But the fish tank was a great idea! 🤙🏻

Yeah it seems like a waste for sure. BTW @mr.grooves had a great point- the polymer/paint might be toxic to fish! No fun for them either!

I'm a loose car guy too. I think these packs are a nice product to display sealed. That being said, if you look at it from a diorama perspective, it does have issues. While I don't collect these, somebody had the one with the Ford GT for $10 at a swap meet so I couldn't pass it up. I will have to do my own review as well. By the way, I wouldn't put the diorama piece in a fish tank. The material/paint might be toxic.

Do they make more money selling them this way? Seems like they’d sell just as many or more with simpler packaging. Instead of the clunky polymer prop, just do cool graphics on the packaging maybe…

Yeah I’m definitely not feeling the dioramas from JL, I would prefer more two packs from them! Great vid and cars, my favorite was the barn find Charger.

And to answer your question, no i don't collect these. I would if the dioramas were up to scale and reusable, but as it is it is just a lot of waste for a very small car. I prefer to buy actual dioramas, in the proper scale, and put my cars in them for some pics. Anyway, love the Sunoco Camaro. Hope they release it again sometime without all the extra junk.

Nice vid JoMotor49. I completely agree with you all the way. To much packaging and way to big. Not much thinking about environment. I only have the barnfind Mustang version. Just because of the background. One piece is enough. To expensive also. The Sunoco Camaro also has a slightly different version in normal packaging. I bought that one instead. Also have the white lightning version of that one. But they should keep it small. Collecting takes already very much space. For me they may change it to small boxes like MiniGT or Tomica Limited. That would be good enough for me. The diecast cars are beautiful by the way. ;-)

The diorama sets are okay for backdrops but that’s about it. Personally, greenlight has better dioramas but even then they can do better.

I just picked up the 1968 mustang barn find. In that huge blister pack it’s set up nice but like you said what do you do with a hunk of unscaled barn? I think if your good with a camera you could make it look further in the background.🤷🏼‍♂️ but still it really is an unnecessary

Johnny lightning is never good for scale. Even their cars. For example their 1977 dodge Monaco is way to small to be true 1/64
