Cracked earth - Drying Beit Netofa Valley אדומה סדוקה וציפורים - בקעת בית נטופה מתייבשת

Winter 2024 brought a significant amount of rain to Beit Netofa (Al Batuf) Valley in the Lower Galilee. The valley was almost completely flooded, and became a vast lake about half a meter deep.
Summer is already here, and the central part of the valley is still flooded, serving as a birds home to nesting stilts and numerous ibises. The cracked earth is still muddy, feeling peculiar to walk on.

חורף 2024 הביא כמות משמעותית של גשם לבקעת בית נטופה (אל בטוף) בגליל התחתון. הבקעה הוצפה כמעט לחלוטין, והפכה לאגם עצום בעומק של כחצי מטר. הקיץ כבר כאן, והחלק המרכזי של הבקעה עדיין מוצף, משמש כבית לציפורים, בהן אפשר לצפות בתמירונים מקננים ומצייצים בעצבנות למראה כל פולש, ולהקה גדולה של מגלנים.
האדמה הסדוקה עדיין בוצית, מרגישה מוזר ללכת עליה, כאילו תפער את פיה ותבלע את ההולכים.
