Confession here: As much as I love wearing funky colors on my nails, lately for whatever reason (I’m thinking nail color burn out) I’ve been stuck on very simple colors (no offense to anyone) like no glitter, no shimmer, only creams like ivory, pale pinks, powder baby blue, etc, and I’m usually a “season wearer “. All these collections are so beautiful on everyone else but I don’t see myself wearing anything like that anymore 😢 I hope I gain the enthusiasm for color again 👏🏼 I still love watching your videos! ❤

i can definitely understand that! maybe thats why i was like ohhh okay Stevie-o 🤣 i hope you’ve at least been enjoying wearing those pale pinks and blues though, it sounds like yeah you just needed a break from all the colors! palette cleansers are super satisfying too 😌 i appreciate you watching!! 🫶🏼

@@MoniY23 I just went through a phase like this and bought several mainstream creams because I was never into them before. You have to wear what makes you happy, to me that’s the whole purpose of polish. What I did was drag out some of my toppers and started slowly adding them. That helped me a lot. Today I’m wearing a bright pink cream!😂 And if you never want to go back to colors that’s okay to.

@@PolishedYogi I can definitely go for Steve-o Lol! I also have to Thank you because I was a “anti-pink” person 😂 and now I’m embracing it much more! And other colors as well that I wasn’t a big fan of. I dared to try new colors and now I love them hehe 🫶🏼

No judgment, but it's interesting that you struggled with the seafoam crelly. I had just watched Caitlin Swatches review it recently, and I think she described that polish as "self-levels perfectly." She painted two coats, and it looked great, no patchiness. I'm still learning about nail polish myself, and I wonder about different styles of application, and how it affects one's experience. Anyway, this is the one color from the beach collection that I'm really drawn to, and I'm still building a collection and I don't have any seafoam polishes yet! Would probably be a fun one. I like the look of crellies better than creams, and that color is gorgeous. I've come to love Cracked formulas just over the last couple months, only recently got into them (especially the flawless pearly donut ones), and I love to support a fellow Washingtonian. I did pine for Grapeness when it first came out-- I think I even asked you in a Community post if you were going to review Artificial Flavors. You are quite influential on my discovery of and love for jellies this year, and I've acquired Eros and Ube and Lavender Sky from Cirque, and they make a lovely hand-painted gradient on the nail, but none of them were quite the purple I've been looking for-- until I saw Grapeness. I literally had a dream about it lol 💜 I was also really into brand swatches I saw of Pink Strawberry Puffs used as a topper over Grapeness-- so fun, great combo. So when Cracked ran a kind of spontaneous customer appreciation 25% off sale a couple weeks ago, I caved and got them both. Haven't worn them yet, but did swatch them on clear sticks, and had no issues with formula, seemed to self-level nicely. You're right about Eros being more glassy-- holding up the clear swatch sticks to the light, each painted with three coats, Grapeness definitely has more opacity. It makes me wonder how it will perform in jelly sandwiches! I'll find out soon enough! Sorry I wrote a book! I'm getting more and more involved in nail polish over these last nine months or so 😅 Colors and sparkles are good for mental health 😊🌈✨ Thank you so much for your comparisons, as always

ahh sorry i don’t have the time right now to respond to everything in your comment, but I did also see Caitlin had a much different and better experience with Bliss! the main factor i think is our nail length (And maybe even the different nails we swatch on), she’s stated for other polishes as well that they were fully opaque on her in 2 coats but i would need a 3rd for the same shades. i do also think application style does affect it too, i’m usually heavy handed so i might go in with more polish than most people who prefer thinner coats/working with less polish, and sometimes i’m literally heavy handed in the way that i might push down too much when applying vs “floating” the coats if you’ve heard that term! i think Caitlin is a lot more elegant and just better at painting her nails than i am lol i obviously do my best but sometimes my swatches are just messy 😅 but i think thats why its helpful to watch a lot of people, to better gauge what your experience might be! it’s definitely a beautiful color and if you do prefer crellies over cremes that would be a great one to try! ☺️ i’ll try to respond later to the rest of your comment lol!

@@PolishedYogi No worries-- and thanks for the insight! I think that's possibly true about which nail is displayed! You use your thumb nail, correct? In my learning curve of trying to become a better applier of polish, I've definitely noticed that the shape and angle of our approaches to finger tips can vary quite a bit. It affects the comfort level and stability of the Cinderella hand with each nail, which of course can affect application. But yes nail length is probably the biggest factor in outcome. I have shorties like Caitlin, but still struggle sometimes. On occasion I've watched her work with a high-quality indie polish, just float down effortlessly in three passes, and the nail looks perfect. I continue to aspire to this lol 😅

Personally I unsubscribed from Caitlin since I feel like she just says the formula on everything is great when that is…. not always the case. Like I didn’t love the formula on Donut Spunk. I’ve found Stefanie’s swatches and experience to be much more in line with my own!! I feel like Stefanie is very accurate and still very diplomatic but realistic when formulas aren’t great.

@@madysencallahan2917 Oh, that's not been my experience with Caitlin Swatches. If she's not keen on something, she says so. And if we're honest here, with her high resolution macro photography, it's impossible to hide it. If polishes don't glide on right, we can see it. I just think she's pretty discerning and chooses mostly high quality products to share. I actually own Donut Spunk, and two others from the donut shop, and I think they are pretty fantastic. Such smooth pearly goodness, dreamy polishes. But if there is a problem with your bottle, have you inquired about it? My feeling is that what Polished Yogi/Stefanie said above probably holds. To paraphrase: Everyone has a different way of painting. Application can be heavy or light, floating or not, with all sorts of varying nail lengths. In other words, your mileage may vary. And I agree, Stefanie is pretty great, for all the reasons you mentioned ✌️ 💅✨
