I worked for The Dial Corp. in Scottsdale AZ (USA) back in the '80s. We had a set up pretty much exactly like this and did research on food formulations. Some forced choice, some absolute. We had many lighting options to mask visual bias and as I recall we used a soda crackers and water to cleans the pallet. The worst panels were the ones testing of shelf stability. I do not believe they were ever toxic, but.......!!!!

Brady do you plan to start a similar video project in the Malaysia Campus? I'm interested to see what our campus here does on a daily basis.

Northern hemisphere lighting?? Is it darker or brighter in the southern hemisphere that I wasn't aware of?

@soccerguyhammers Looking at crackers and hearing talk about crackers activates an associative memory within us which relates to our past experience of eating them. This memory, in turn, can create a physiological reaction as craving for the texture of crackers softening and crumbling on the tongue, a memory of the smooth flavor, salivation and so on ... Pavlov discovered this in an experiment using dogs, ever heard of Pavlov's dogs?

@5random1 No need to be snarky. I have the same problem with my PC laptop, when there is background noise. The point is that I don't have that problem with any other youtube videos, which means that his videos are unusually quiet.

Doesn't it influence the subject knowing that two of the samples are the same and one is different?

How can You handle managing so many channels Brady?
@maekern13 жыл бұрын
I love all of your video series... but they are all so quiet. I could barely hear this video on my laptop (couple year old MacBook) with both the youtube and system volumes up to max. Please please please set your audio levels higher. If there is any background at all I can't hear a thing unless I use my desktop with speakers I can crank up loud.

@theslimeylimey Sweet, salty, and greasy are three things that you want when you're stressed and looking for comfort food (well, that and the fifth taste, umami - that one is really important). You should probably blame consumers, not food scientists.
