I think using the E6000 to glue the paper is really overkill. Mod Podge works great to adhere the paper and you could use a 1 1/4 circle punch. They would be much cleaner on the edges.. use your E600 to hold the magnets on the back.

I did not use a circle punch bc the gem was not a perfect circle

Instead of using glue and having to wait for that to dry how about using double-sided adhesive sheets and cutting to the size you need for the glass piece and the paper
@gloriagiefer3013
@gloriagiefer3013 Жыл бұрын
I have had experiences with glue where once it dries it distorts the picture with bubbles even though I have moved the glass piece around on the paper to try and eliminate the bubble, that's why I suggested the double-sided adhesive

I just loved this project! I searched high and low to find the large glass stones and finally did find them online from Michael's. I got two packs and to my dismay, nearly every stone had a flaw in it that was noticeable! I was just so disappointed because I could not find this size anywhere else online. I just wondered if you had the same situation? If so, would you just use the stone anyway?? Most of the marks were small but I knew they were there and did not feel good about selling them that way. Yours did not appear to have flaws. Can you comment on this please?

I can’t find them either. I guess they don’t make them anymore. At least this size. I did see a company on Amazon is making these into magnets already. They use colored glass

I have always used a circle punch The glass bends the paper below and illusion of a full back. Also... its worth the extra cost to use the metal disc magnets as they don’t slide down the fridge or file cabinet white opening and closing And I coat the back with clear glaze glue. It’s fun to add a dusting of fine glitter on the glass

These look awesome, Deanna. I was reading a few of the comments. I don't use a punch for mine, because the stones are not all perfectly round. I pick out my coordinating colors, then glue several of the stones on each page. I use Glossy Accents for mine. It dries much faster than the E6000, but gives you the same clear glossy result. I have these hanging all over the side of my fridge. I can't seem to package them up once I get them made because they are so pretty. Could be a problem. LOL

I made some of these about 3 years ago from Dollar Tree glass, mod podge and rolled magnet strip. Plus a 1 inch circle punch works great for Dollar Tree gems. I have them on my refrigerator and they are still doing the job. A lot more economical this way. They are a great seller I have heard. You've made a nice assortment. :)

I think the $3 for a set of four is a great price! I made something similar for the craft fair I did, it was nail polish instead of paper and they sold really well - in fact they were the only thing that day that did sell! Teens like these for their lockers at school, my daughter goes nuts over them! Also, I tried the thin magnet sheets at first and they did not work, the glass was too heavy for them. So you definitely need the thicker magnets.

Cool project and great for craft fair item. Can't wait to make these. Like the idea of pkg in 4 and selling. I buy the little tubes of E6000 as found it gave me more control and less waste.

You can also use different nail polishes you can use glitter ones too and after they dry use a clear coat to seal them no paper needed 🦄

Very pretty. I think 3.00 dollars is a good price. I'm going to Micheal's tomorrow. I had a hard time finding that size stone last year, hope I have better luck. Thanks again Deanna. Still keeping you and your family in my prayers. Sending a virtual hug today.

I had the same issue with the E6000 so I solve it two ways. I squeeze out a small amount on scrap paper and close the lid each time OR! I buy a pkg of the small tubes when I know that I can use it several times in one sitting. It comes 5 to a pkg I think and you dont waste it.

Love these! I wonder about a circle punch? But I guess you'd have to use one that is an exact size....maybe a 1 1/2" or a 2" punch would be the same size? Love how pretty the paper looks under the glass!! And I think $3.00 is a great price... TFS!! ♡♡♡ Suzy

I was making them with Mod Podge and they take forever to dry. I’m not a fan of the smell of the E-6000 but if it works faster than the Mod Podge, I’m all in! The designs I make, is special logo ones for the High school and middle school. They are purple tigers-so not something you can find easily. I have the market cornered! Haha.😂

Please be really careful when using the E6000 glue! Is very important to use it in a very well ventilated area! Otherwise it'll really space you out. I strongly advise reading the entire glue package so that you know what you're really dealing with.
