Craft Journeys - Criminal Quilts - Ruth Singer

Criminal Quilts is an art & heritage project inspired by photographs and documents relating to women and crime 1877-1916 held at Staffordshire Record Office. Ruth was Artist in Residence at the record office in 2018, working with volunteers to research stories about women criminals photographed in Stafford Prison 1877-1916. The exhibition of the project is touring the UK in 2019-21 and a book of the project is available on Ruth’s website. The project has been developed and run by Ruth Singer in partnership with Staffordshire Record Office with funding from Arts Council England.
