Hi Ardyth! The best part of your space is the wooden stamp that reads "Jesus is the Reason for the Season." So organized, and everything is very well laid out. Love the fingertip reach. BTW ... Hey Ardyth, LOVE your studio! My faves are the wine bottle holder for the heat gun, your homemade light diffusers and repurposed/recycled storage and furnishings. I'm all about the re, except when it comes to buying sets of certain consumable fine art supplies, then I'm as green as I can manage. Ultimately, it's where the individual artist is at in themselves and what's accessible and affordable in these crazy times. Lotsa love from Louisiana.

Thank you so much for the GREAT IDEAS that I got from you when putting together my first craft room this past year. Although my Hubby did most of the hard work in remodelling our third bedroom into my craft room I got some really AMAZING ideas from watching your video! I use a marble wine holder for my heat gun, I have the three drawer dresser(it was mine when I was a baby as well as all of our children’s dresser when they were babies as well)that holds my Gemini & all it’s plates, foiling plate & foils. I also have a wooden tray that holds my pastes, gels & sprays. I use an metal lid holder to hold my Misti, score board & Fisker’s paper trimmer but I might have to get one of the blue holders like you have on the lazy Susan because that would help with being able to reach items better. I so wish you desk wasn’t discontinued because it would be fabulous to have in my room! LoL! Thank you for all the suggestions! You were such a help to setting up my space! God Bless & the Love of Christ to you & yours!!

Wow, sounds like you've had fun getting your craft room set up! As for the desk, I'm sure there are other 'L' shaped desks out there (in fact I wish mine was the mirror image of itself, if you know what I mean) - I guess we're never 100% satisfied but that is what keeps us moving forward! Thanks so much for watching!

Love your space and that you have tried and true favourites even if they aren’t the “latest”, it’s so easy to get caught up in the rush of new releases. My space is a work in progress, just when I feel I have it worked out it changes again which is actually wonderful, it keeps my creative energy flowing 😊

As a DT member, I definitely get caught up in new releases! LOL! But I also hold onto things that work for me, whether they are trendy or not. Thank you so much for sharing a tour of your room. Makes it somehow more "real" watching your other videos, now that I have a mental image of your setup. And I have to tell you that I absolutely love the idea of using a tray for photos! I especially love that your photos all have a consistent, no nonsense, showcase the card look. I know the big thing these days is staging and props, but when I pin or save a photo for future reference, I want a closeup of the card, not the flowers, plates, decorative pens, twine spools, palettes, etc that others place in their photos. Pretty, yes. Functional, no. I haven't started posting my cards on Instagram, but I love how your feed looks. Calm, consistent, yet still colorful and creative... and not visually overwhelming. The same could be said for your videos... no extras we don't need, just clear, concise info. Thank you so much for sharing your work over the last year. With the changes KZbin made recently I am fearful that many artists will either either start charging for content via their sites, or will just stop altogether. Many of us are so appreciate of content like yours to learn from, especially if we have no crafty friends IRL. Thank you and Happy New Year!

I really appreciate you taking the time to write all that, Karen. What you said about my feed, photos and style is exactly how I am (and all I really know how to be! LOL!). I often question if I should be more like others, but I know deep down I need to stay true to who I am. I am hoping to upgrade that plastic tray ($2 at IKEA LOL!) to a slate tile soon! Let me know when you start posting and I will be one of your first followers! Thanks for your kind words - they really made my day!

@@ardyth I found you through Susan R (Lateblossom/Simplicity) forever ago and have been a huge follower ever since. I was immediately drawn to you artistic style and blogging style (I liked the CASEing you did and how you listed what was similar and what was different), but when you started doing videos... holy cow was I impressed! Most bloggers get off to a shaky, awkward start. But you just came out and kicked butt. Your personality shines through and so many of us really appreciate that you give your thoughts on the process AND that you leave the mistakes in, showing how to repair them and when to just not worry about imperfections. Hands down, you are my favorite YT'er (yes, even more than Jennifer McGuire!) for all the reasons above. I've been excited to see your card making career blossom with DT positions, etc. I'm on a DT for a challenge blog and sometimes struggle when cardmaking becomes a job. I'm so impressed with artists that can produce so much, so well, on deadlines, and with requirements of using certain supplies. My blog is called Misplaced Mojo cause I struggle to keep the mojo flowing. Do you ever have issues with your creative mojo? It would make a great video topic.... how you get ideas, what to try when you don't have ideas, how to CASE but still make it your own. Oh, and no need to update your tray... on a monitor it already looks like slate, and no one is the wiser... except me 😄. I hope 2020 brings you continued crafty success and that I get to continue to be inspired by it!!!
@ardyth5 жыл бұрын
@@karenpage946 I've gone and subscribed to your blog - you are a challenge queen! You are clearly a very talented cardmaker. I think we all struggle with mojo from time to time, and deadlines and products that don't immediately spark and idea don't make it easy. When I'm struggling, I take breaks and go back to my pinterest inspiration boards - that often helps me find something that will work. And sometimes I post cards that I don't love (and sometimes they do better than ones I did love when I posted! LOL!) For me it's just about keeping going and eventually, I usually create something workable. I love the idea of making 'get the mojo flowing' into a video - I will definitely give that some thought. 2020 is going to be off to a busy and exciting start - some new things coming very soon! Thanks again for taking the time to chat - I appreciate it!

Thoroughly enjoying your well lighted space and your organizational ideas. Looks very efficient too. Always love seeing your card designs as well. Thanks for sharing your crafty space.

My cutter is a Dahle 552. I have heard very good things about that Genesis cutter! Thanks so much for watching!

@@ardyth Thanks for the info. I love the Genesis, but the blade is not self sharpening, altho it works a long time before replacing. It's difficult to find anybody who sells them now, and it was quite an expensive cutter as well. But well worth the price. Also had an optional light feature which helps secure a better 'straight cut'. Love your cards.

@@ardyth I’d like to see how you organize your punches. I don’t want mine on a « towel bar » on the wall because I don’t use them enough. I can’t upload my pic. Punches are stored in a cutlery organizer, sitting upright. I don’t know where to put the trays now 🤷🏼♀️
@ardyth3 жыл бұрын
@@suzannelanglois8153 I don't have punches anymore. I found that dies took up less space. (not that I don't wish sometimes that I still had a circle punch! LOL!) I never liked the towel rack solution and it sounds like your cutlery organizer is something I would have tried. I hope you find something that works for you!

thank you so much for sharing way back then I started out o the top of my dryer as a crafting spot. I now have a room. well, kind of a room. at any rate, I appreciate you sharing. I am glad I found your craft chanel.

OK, I've heard a lot, but on top of the DRYER?! Wow, that's devotion! lol! But I've also noticed that a lot of beautiful work comes from very small, makeshift workspaces! I'm glad you have a more comfortable location to create in now - thanks so much for watching!

What a great space, Ardyth! I even picked up a few tips, like how you separate your Copics. It bugs me when my markers mix with other colors or fall over in the container because there aren’t enough.

Thanks, Jennifer! Over the years I've tried a lot of methods with my copics, but I like that these are within reach and organized and don't take up a ton of space. Happy 2020!

I have the same trimmer that you do. I also absolutely love mine :) I enjoyed seeing your room since we have similar supplies specific to cardmaking. I have a bunch of colored cardstock that takes up a lot of space, which I don’t use that much. That might be an area for me to work on in 2020! Thank you for sharing.

LOVE that trimmer - bought it when I was making wedding invitations years ago. My coloured cardstock (still an embarrassing amount, given that I rarely use it!) is in the bottom drawer of the brown dresser. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing! I love your room!! I had a couple of different craft spaces/rooms in our old house through the years as they were growing up and then as they left the nest, I changed rooms and my space evolved and then well the end of 2016 both boys had graduated college and left home and our oldest had gotten married so we decided to down-size and hubby and decided instead of buying a new home we'd build a new home which is what we did in 1993 when our youngest was born. We hired our contractor again and hubby designed our house, he's an engineer and very good about taking the time to figure out what we need in the house. He did an awesome job designing my space for my Studio! I love it, it's just taking a lot of time to figure out how to organize it! We moved in almost 3 years ago and I keep rearranging things, not furniture because the room is designed around the the pieces :) My question for you is do you have a link to the small clear boxes that you got at Home Depot? I have the same Alex drawers on the top of my desk and have wondered how to organize them better but couldn't find anything to fit in them! I'm in the US, but pretty sure if I show them to hubby he'd know what to look for since he kinda gets lost in Home Depot, LOL!! Thanks again for sharing your awesome space!!!

This is not exactly it, but something like this. www.homedepot.ca/product/husky-28-drawer/1000815380 I've had mine for years, and I'm not even sure that it was from Home Depot, if you know what I mean. I would just measure the drawers and keep an eye out when you're in places like that. Good luck - thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
