Here I am dabbling in more of my inks. This time I’m using my bottles of the Alcohol Inks. These film strips look so cool using the inks. I hope you like this project and will give it a try. They are so simple to make. My supply list is down below.

I love the little minis with their bodies cut off, now you have to think of something to do with the bottom half. I agree with you about the comment section. I’ve learned so many things from comment sections. I know people who say they never read the comments and it’s like why not there’s so much good information there, also it’s something to do when something that you don’t need to watch is going on in the video like fussy cutting or inking or things that you don’t need to watch rather than fast forwarding you can read the comments.

What an amazing way to use a filmstrip die. I have that die and never even thought to make the background look like actual filmstrip negative material…so cool! I have made lots of types of faux vintage scotch tape using the alcohol inks and it looks so cool so now I will be trying the AI with either the wide shiny clear packing tape or on my acetate sheets for this effect. It’s very easy and quick to color those shiny surfaces with one of Tim’s alcohol daubers and felt material to apply it and it dries super fast. Those paper dolls on there are so cute and your idea to cut out some of the Photo Booth people is brilliant! I’m so glad you shared this idea. You always inspire me and I love watching! ☺️

Maggie, honestly i think youre one of the most creative people I know! So, for those who don't have filmstrip dies you could very easily cut the rectangle on transparent paper and then draw the lines in with a black alcohol ink marker. I think that would work. Also, i love this project so much and can't wait to try it. Ps. Im going to try to upload the video where i finish the journal with your madterboard tomorrow night. :)

I don’t have dies or die machine, but I do have actual film strips and I have used them before in journals as a side tuck. I don’t think I’ve ever used them as a belly band. I have vellum and alcohol inks, but I think I want to try the alcohol inks on acetate. Like you said they’re plenty of substitutions. I also have digital film strips. All I have to do is print it and cut it out.
@sandypeppers6861

Alcohol inks do work on acetate, and metal, and acrylic. You could use less product if you use a blending solution or isopropyl alcohol (each has different attributes). They are flammable, so I would probably shy away from using any heat- they dry quickly on their own.

I don't have die cuts or alcohol inks. But it's maggie so I had to watch anyway. Like that you did one without ink but I do like the ink look. I wonder if you could us distress ink and drop alcohol on top?? Unfortunately I do need a film strip. When I moved from Massachusetts to NJ I threw away all the negatives of my pictures. I thought when would I ever use these. Technology has passed them by....ughhhhhhh. yes side tuck or just page edge embellishments ❤❤❤❤my favs are the individuals in each frame.
@SunsetCrafts
@SunsetCrafts 7 ай бұрын
I actually do think that might work. I’ve seen some rub their distress ink on a piece of plastic adding a couple drops of water and dab the paper around the ink. It’s a really cool look. Don’t you hate it when we throw out things before we started this junk journal journey knowing now we totally could’ve used them? Ugh! I know! LOL

Hi Maggie You are linking these dies to an Amazon seller. This is a Chinese seller who sells counterfeit craft supplies. This is one of my designs and this seller is selling a stolen design. Please remove your link and link to a proper / genuine seller who sells the original products I designed. Don’t support Chinese sellers who sell stolen designs! I appreciate your cooperation. Thank you. Esther.

@@SunsetCrafts hi Maggie. These dies are being sold by lots of craft stores/ shops worldwide. Genuine shops with a brick and mortar shop and webshop. The product code is Elizabeth Craft Designs - Planner Filmstrip nr. 1656 by Elizabeth Craft designs. If you google you will find it in different shops so I can’t give you just 1 link :)) Sites with sellers from China , (unfortunately they are also on Amazon) are all selling stolen designs from designers worldwide and they are really hurting the crafting industry. If people buy from those sites they in fact steal from the original designers. We try everything to prevent these sellers and their shops selling our products but it’s very hard. So every cooperation is helpful. Every little bit and awareness helps. You can recognize these counterfeit dies by the fact that the dies are attached together , you have to cut them apart, and by not having original packaging from the company they steal from. They also use our photos and sample images / artwork to promote their counterfeit stuff. It’s something to be aware of when you want to buy these craft supplies. Please take a good look before you make a purchase. Cheap is always / 99.9 % fake. Thanks for your cooperation. Please spread the word to safe the craft industry 🥰🥰
