Crafting and Recalibration | Beginners Guide | The Division 2

Fantastic video! Being that I am a solo gamer and thought that this game was strictly multiplayer, it was never on my radar until I just recently read that solo players can play it. As a solobird myself, I've found that a drone and a turret are good substitutes for friends, my drone for the friend who follows me and the turret for the friend who stays behind and we use as bait. ^~^

Just curious, but do you do VO for tutorial or help videos in your day job? Because this video is by far the most professional I’ve come across with regard to calibration, etc. Everything-from the cadence and clarity of your speech to the zoom-ins on the UI areas being discussed, to the pauses that let information be digested by the viewer, etc.-says seasoned professional. It’s crazy how in the footage of you shooting with the shield, I see no inaccuracy or recoil. It’s like you have accuracy at 100%, and recoil at 0%.

I thank my time with the first game for that, compared to The Division 1, The Division 2 has very little recoil. Playing with a mouse doesn't hurt either lol

Great vid, thanks! Why can't I apply a talent from a marksman rifle to a rifle? I removed the talent but was unable to use it on my SC CQB, CQB has NO previous modification done. Is it because the talent is coming from a marksman rifle?

Can you change the level of gear/guns to your current player level? For example if my character is level 25 can I change my backpack from a level 17 to level 25

No problem, I'm glad you've found it helpful! I mention mods a little more in this video around the 11:44 point: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYnZhpJvZdd2rqs But as a quick summary, Gear mods add additional attributes to a piece of gear. There are 3 types or categories of mods for gear shown by colour: Red = Offensive Blue = Defensive Yellow = Skill Each of these types/categories have a collection of attributes they can be, for example, Red or offensive mods can be things like Critical hit chance, Critical Hit damage, headshot damage and so on. You can equip mods in any Gold/Yellow piece of gear and most Purple gear. I hope that answers some of your questions but if you have anymore feel free to ask!

I wonder if you or anyone can help me, I am trying to get Belstone on my level 30 character crafting station, I have it on my level 40 character but even though I have shared my level 30 character blueprints etc, I don't have the Belstone there to craft. I want to make a armour regen build for farming Exo components in the dz.... It must be possible as a friend of mine has the Belstone in the level 30 bracket crafting station, any ideas, Thanks guys

Glad you enjoyed it! Head to the Recalibration bench at the White House and interact with it, Select 'Recalibration Library' then pick the slot the item with the attribute you want to store belongs, then the type of attribute and finally find the attribute it's self and you'll have a prompt at the bottom of the screen to store it. Hope that helps!

Does the recalibrated stat stay always in ur library? U dont loose it after changing thenstat right? For example if i have crit chance maxed out can i use that hoewer i want? Or.do.i.have to recalibrate again that stat again to max?

When you store an attribute(stat) in the recalibration library you then have that attribute forever to use on as many items as you want so it becomes a little mini-game trying to collect all the maxed out attributes. Hope that helps!

Hey! The Bullet King originally only dropped from the Riker missions in the Lower Manhattan map but now the WoNY exotics are all in the general loot pool so as long as you own the Warlords of New York expansion you an farm the Bullet King anywhere with LMG targeted loot. Hope that helps!

I just started the game and got a lot of gear and placed primarily all in my recalibrate library Now I’m left with just a few weapons including my exotics . Is that a good thing ? even my green sets i placed in my library

Nothing wrong with that at all, you'll find most of the gear you gather while levelling gets replaced quite quick to selling it, deconstructing it or adding it to the library is the best way to go. I wouldn't worry to much about what gear to keep until you are at max level or gear score.

It's been a while since I've levelled a new character so I'm not 100% but I think that is the level of the crafting bench as you progress through the game

@@ThatAbrax No my crafting bench is already max level. It’s level 40. But after doing more research I think it is the amount of craftable exotic blueprints you have. There are 4 craftable exotic weapons and 2 gear pieces, one being a think a backpack and the other I believe is a holster.

Is therea way to get exotics from the start or anyway stuff that makes enemies go down i 1 2 or 3 taps? And that can be kept for the entire pve game and allow a lesser bulletspongy experience? Hardcore and story mode.

To keep enemies going down fast I'd recommend playing on the normal or hard difficulty but keep in mind the lower the difficulty the worse the attribute rolls on loot can be

@@ThatAbrax Yes learning that of the attribute rolls outcome, yes this is unfortunately copied straight out of casino \ roulette systems... In fact I don't like this and it's not useful but for a future PVP... To keep the game as realistic as possible, also being me jogging or walking and doing "extra stuff" that game mechanic do not cover, I intend to have not spongy stuff in game. The important is that the game allows to actually craft the gameplay (as it promises) also to players that seek a more realistic outcome. Not staying hours to shoot straight line to enemy without even recoil... I mean that's extremely boring stuff for me. No offense. It is so "offending" to look for different approach that official Ubisoft discord does ban you if a pack of wolves sees you and start calling you a troll and puts for no reason some insults and provocation so you get in troubles for being different. If this is the community behind this game, I hope it burns... down

I have a question, my crafting bench is at 475-505 power is that the max ? Other videos said 500 is the max maybe it was updated?

It may have been updated, on my level 30, GS500 character it's also 475-505 so crafting an item will put it some where in that range.

Can someone explain this to me? I pretty much deconstruct 90% - 95% of everything I get..Where does that material go. When I go to the crafting table I have a plethora of weapon and gear that also needs to be deconstructed. Where did those parts come from? I thought that deconstructing, out in the field, to make room for more loot was how it was done. What am I not understanding here? Thanks in advance

2:04 - Oh! I was wondering what was going on. At first I thought I was recruiting her to come on missions with me. Isn’t that usually what the word “recruiting“ refers to? When I discovered she was to be used for crafting and I “recruited” her, I saw what I see here, the word “crafting“ above her and then I couldn’t do anything else. So I had no idea what else I was supposed to do with her. You are saying go back to the White House, is that explained in the game? May be in the FAQ thing they have?

It's the Famas with Perfect Focus on the chest, can take a bit of getting use to but it can do some big damage.

I'd say the game is still very worth playing with out the expansion although it does add quite a bit to the endgame.

How do you add an attribute to the library though?

If you have a piece of gear or weapon with an attribute you don't currently have stored: 1. Interact with the Recalibration station. 2. select Recalibration Library. 3. select the weapon or gear piece type that has the attribute. 4. select the type of attribute it is you want to store. 5 . find and select the attribute from the list. 6. Hold the button shown at the bottom of the screen for 'Extract Internal'. Done! Hope that helps!

I'm at level 20 and I have the recalibration bench with Emma Richards. I'm trying to use the library to extract some of the attributes and talent. My question is why I only see items that are at level 30 as being the only attributes I can extract? In my stash I have weapons and gear that I collected during missions that had attributes i wanted to transfer from levels 1 thru 20. My problem is they don't show up in the recalibration bench as being able to extract. The only one's that show as being extractable are at level 30 which were already in my stash when I started the game. I am looking at levels 1 thru 30 on the recalibration bench and not the 31 thru 40 levels. I love the game but I'm confused on how this works and can't seem to find a good explanation on KZbin on the lower levels. Thanks

How curious, I just check on a level 30 character and I'm able to extract attributes from a level 8 weapon. Is the item favourited at all? If they are they won't appear at the Recalibration bench, I'm not to sure what else that could be.

@@ThatAbrax none of my attributes are favorites. Right now I'm at level 22 and I did see a couple of low level attributes that I can add to my library. I'm just wondering why don't all my attributes show up as being able to be extractable? Is it just certain gear and weapons are able to be extractable? Is it only brands or something like that. I've watched a ton of video but no one ever mentions that there are restrictions on what gear or weapons attributes can be extracted. For me it's important information in deciding if I should store a item or sell it. Thanks

@@gadgetguy5871 That's really strange, I can't think of what it could be other then the item's been starred. When I jump onto a lower level character to test it I can store attributes from gear at any level, really weird.

@@ThatAbrax I've been racking my brain trying to figure it out. I've tried some experiments by collecting gears and weapons and marking them as a recalibration item and going directly to the bench to see if they showed up as either item that can be extractable or improved. Some do but others don't. Every video I've watched explain it as if any weapons or gear attributes or talent can be extracted or improved. And ii my experience with the game says this is not the case. There has to be reason why certain gears or weapons can't be extracted or improved. I'm at level 25 and when I go to my bench most of the weapons and gear that I can extract or improve are in the 30 level range with the exception of a few weapons and gear that I collected in the lower levels. Example of this is I have 10 knee pads collected and range from level 20 to 25. I go to library to extract and only 3 of the 10 show up as being able to extract a attribute. And to make matters worse none of the core attributes can be extracted from the 10 knee pads. And this goes for the same with the rest of the gear and weapons. I think I've only been able to extract 1 or 2 core attributes since I got access to the bench. Hope this explains my issue in better details. Thanks for trying to help out.

@@ThatAbrax here is a another example of what I'm dealing with and this pertains to all my stash inventory. I have 14 level 30 SMG which were there when I started the game. Then I have 8 level 15 thru 25 SMG in my stash as well as in my inventory I found during missions. I go to my bench and at the recalibration library I show the 14 level 30 SMG as being able to extract on the Core Attributes. In the regular attributes I show plenty of attributes that can be extracted but all are at the level 30 none from the lower levels. Now I go to my Recalibration Station and it shows the 14 level 30 and only 2 of the lower levels out of the 8 that I have either the stash or in my inventory that I found during missions. I don't think the game is broken but there may be something in missing in my understanding of how the bench works. Like I said before every video I've seen explain it as if you can extract any attributes from any weapon and gear at any level but I'm finding it not to be the case.

1 year old video, but still have a question. My friend is a new player and cannot craft the optimization bundles for each faction. When I first started I never even knew about those, but when I needed to craft the faction bundles...I just could. I just played the game casually, and passively gained the ability to craft the bundles. Example:He needs Black Tusk assessment bundles to optimize a gun, goes to the crafting bench, optimize, Black Tusk bundle...no go. How do you unlock these? Have we been wasting time on CPs? Any help is appreciated 👍

You can get the blueprints for the crafting bundles from Control Points and projects, you just need to make sure the control points are on Challenging or Heroic difficulty for them to drop. Hope that helps!

Too complicated and tedious, not realistic you shouldn't have to shoot anyone in a t shirt 100 times to maybe get a kill IF they're not hiding behind an invincible barrier. Cant wait for 2042, hopefully they add different ammo types and armor.
