Poe2 crafting in a nutshell: -Find good base with 3 or 4 desired mods -use chaos orb - now you have 2 desired mods - vendor for 5 trans shards
@arturvegis25712 ай бұрын
KEEP IN MIND that poe is very strict with text. The new divine orb states "Randomises the numerical values of an item", I would assume that implicits are also values of an item so divine orbs most likely also reroll those.

Fun fact: according to Jonathan, the Fusing Orb *will* be returning but it will be repurposed with some function related to "late-game character power." Source: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGHGcmyqoLmcjqcsi=CJplRm0MCCcqibxy&t=3109 Great video btw. The title is slightly clickbaity, but this is a pretty comprehensive overview of what we know about crafting so far. There are some tangentially related topics that I think are worth knowing about, like new treatment of item rarity buckets and the new rare item tiering, but we know precious little and the info is scattered across a bunch of different interviews, so.

Thanks for sharing! The name will be the same, but the use will be different.. What more can you "fuse" with an orb? My first idea would be an orb version of recombinators in PoE1. That would make sense as good items are harder to come across, so fusing 2 bases together is a nice way to craft Endgame items.

@Sejend2 ай бұрын
One question that comes to mind is: people praise the removal of Alteration spam, but isn't the new chaos orb basically the same? You transmute it to 1 affix and then chaos spam it, which by removing 1 and adding 1 is essential the same right? Another thought: you can't start from scratch as stated in the video. Can't you just annul all mods away? 🤔

Really hope they are not going in the direction of stockpiling white items, that's going to be so tedious to manage, specially for newer players who might already be struggling with storage... If they really are trying to go that direction, the only reason I can find is selling more tabs
@Jumpthepack2 ай бұрын
I do agree, but unless other things are added to the game, it appears that might be the case.
@brianh58442 ай бұрын
Honestly if I start to detect changes that make the game clunkier and demand more stash space to optimize, I'm just not going to play the game let alone buy tabs. Hopefully this is just incomplete info right now, because the proposed system is far clunkier and doesn't make it easier for new players. It's not like you can't still deterministically "alt-spam" items, it's just now the "alt-spam" has many more steps (get a white base, transmute, aug). Players will do whatever they need to do in order to craft the most powerful items. If there's a laborious process for one step, it makes perfect sense to include a currency item that shortcuts that in most cases. You can always adjust the rarity appropriately if you think that process is very powerful (i.e. they could decide to make alterations much rarer in POE2 if they thought alt spamming was too strong).

I never wrapped my head around prefix/suffix/implicit. How are they different? Why they are not just called "stats on item"? Does certain stats only come on either suffix or prefix? Is that the thing?
@Jumpthepack2 ай бұрын
There are 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes on a rare item, and each can roll a different set of modifiers. An implicit is on its own and a lot of items have their own unique one (though you can add one in unique cases such as a Vaal Orb). Of course, you can just refer to them as stats on items, but prefixes and suffixes are the more professional names. Also, affixes are what you call both the prefixes and suffixes together. Hope that helps.
@oaksmadoaks2 ай бұрын
@@Jumpthepack ok, so if lets say "+10 to crit strike" is designed to be a prefix, It will never roll as a suffix correct?
@JayM9282 ай бұрын
First, prefixes and suffixes are considered "explicit" modifiers. They are called prefixes and suffixes because they correspond to how item is named. For example, a magic imperial Skean called "Honed Imperial Skean of the Genius" has a prefix of "Honed" which is a specific tier (6) of "adds X physical damage". It has a suffix of "of the Genius" which is a T1 "+X intelligence". An imperial Skean (and most daggers) has an implicit modifier of increased global critical strike. So, you'll have that on the dagger no matter what. The white dagger has that on it and it can't be changed (unless corrupted and it happens to change). So that Honed Imperial Skean of the Genius (magic item) has: Implicit: crit chance Explicit prefix: adds x phys dmg Explicit suffix: +x intelligence. Rare items get names instead of the traditional prefix and suffix title in the item name, eg "Rapture Razor". Rares will have up to 3 explicit prefixes and 3 explicit suffixes. It will still have the item base implicit of crit chance (assuming that's not modified, which it technically can be, but for arguments sake, let's say it doesn't change). If you hold Alt while hovering over the item description, you will see whether a modifier is a prefix/suffix and it will even give the name and tier. So, a rare items with +47 intelligence, when you hit alt will show: [Suffix modifier "of the Virtuoso" (Tier 2) 47(43-50) to intelligence] Also, the implicit will be labeled as an "implicit" as well when you hold Alt. Hope that helps.

@@JayM928 oh wow, had no idea about "They are called prefixes and suffixes because they correspond to how item is named." Much more clearer now! Ty.
@sebill53952 ай бұрын
@@oaksmadoaks also, yes, certain modifiers are designed to be either prefix or suffix. For example, let's take body armour with Prefixes +300 to evasion rating 25% increased evasion rating, 15% increased stun and block recovery (it's a hybrid prefix modifier) 99% increased evasion rating Suffixes 20% to cold resistance 20% to fire resistance With exalted orb (adds explicit modifier to an item) you will never slam, for example, maximum life on this one. But, you can slam attributes, any other resistance and so on. You can see full list of prefixes and suffixes on websites like poeDB and Craft of Exile

I tend to think getting rid of scours is a huge mistake. Holding on to white bases sounds extremely tedious and unfun.
@peterlusstig26802 ай бұрын
well, in a world without scours, u wont hold on to base items for long... they will sell like hot cake (if the base is actually good). in case u want to stockpile them to craft on them ur self tho, i can see space becoming an issue at some point (but on the other hand u can just sell them if it becomes too much clutter - just keep the best of the best for ur self).
@youtoobz1462 ай бұрын
@@peterlusstig2680 why do you think they will sell like hotcakes. It's not like bases were common at all. This doesn't improve crafting. It makes it significantly worse. It makes decent gear harder to make for new players.
@peterlusstig26802 ай бұрын
@@youtoobz146 why do they sell fast? cuz ppl will need them to craft their gear, and there will be more ppl crafting than actually good bases dropping (on average). it doesnt improve crafting no (never claimed that - neither did u claim that its good or bad for crafting)... what improves tho, is the itemization -> it makes white items usefull (like in diablo 2). your argument was about "hanging on to white items" and how its "unfun"... i just sayed that u wont hang on to them for long, thats all. about the "unfun" part... we dont know how fun it is, but if i take my 10 years with d2 as a reference... its fun to me atleast :)

So can I take an item with GG damage, use an exalted orb to ensure it has max properties, then re-roll each affix on the item so that its a BIS item, or can you only re-roll 1 affix on an item with a chaos orb?

I can't imagine crafting without some sort of scouring method. Lets imagine a scenario: you get a white base to craft on, then use an alch to test your luck getting nothing useful and then what? The item is useless now and you need a new white base? What the hell? I mean how many quad tabs will we need to deposit all our crafting bases?

Yeah, GGG wants you to start off crafting on a decent looted rare base, they do not like the fact that almost all crafts just start off with a "whatever" base, that's why scours and re-roll currencies are gone. They introduced loot tiers now, where higher tiered loot has a higher chance of getting good rolls which should make looting rares less of a pain.
