as a full time syndicate farmer, i will miss interacting with Aisling herself, she's a fun NPC :( same thing happened with ITF, she went from being top tier to nonexistent. syndicate is the only thing that keeps me playing the game every league, but this change takes a lot of the fun out of it. it's now just going to be catarina rush with zero strategy. fill intervention for scarabs, interrogate everyone else, catarina, repeat. on the upside, maybe i'll finally be able to bring myself to quit POE now, lol.

Yep the more elites the more the money. Every change is actually for them not the players. And they got to punish people its funny the things they do to stop the high end guys from doing "stuff" in standard. Makes their intentions clear. Play the cycles or be a pheasant.

As a person who was farming Syndicate for the past two leagues, must point out that T4 Aisling was epxensive because it was tricky to "assign" her to Research and sometimes it was tricky to get her to T3. Gathering intelligence and killing Catarina is much simpler and faster, so depending on the drop rate, it might be significantly cheaper than old Aisling.

I like this change a lot. Gives more value to good items. Things being expensive is great. Means you can make much more currency for crafting items. There are tons of almost good items. Now you don’t need to meta craft to rng a veil chaos to make a crazy good item. Sure it’s luck based but that’s what makes it fun. Eldritch currency already let’s you finish items anyways. And this lets you alteration regal craft much easier too. Only a buff in my eyes.

But this Method already existed. Yeah, you had to farm a Aisling 4 yourself or trust TFT but it already existed. The major Problem: Veiled Chaos can be hoarded now. Assuming a lower Supply could lead in monopoly like markets where rich Player can buy out all normal prized Veiled Chaos and controll the market that way.

Force increasing damage over time duration. I'd often start with a good suffix fracture than veiled chaos spam until I got it because it was 30 times cheaper than buying a ton of aisling slams.

Here is my take on this. They did not have time to make a proper change aka what they said in a video they will make the Aisling Craft a consumable from Aisling. It was a much more simpler solution to change the properties of a Veiled Chaos Orb and make it a dropable item from Catarina. They saved time and money! Anyway, lets hope that Aisling gets the old Veiled Chaos orb's ability.

Assuming no other changes: Sometimes I don't understand the Vision of GGG. Why nerfing mid budget stuff while increasing power for high budget crafting? What I ask myself: How rare will they be? There could be a major problem, when supply is rather scarce and Flippers with big pockets are able to controll the market. This could be a big issue.

I like the veiled orb change a lot, rushing catarina means you don't need to organize board as much now if you're only after veiled orbs, but the point you bring up about lower tier crafting is a good one.

you use the passive that give you 10 completion on a random syndicate on the atlas and you can farm catarina rather quick. because now the only craft that is still worth is vorici for white socket unless they change it

But also crafting on fractured items was easy. Where you could finish prefix or suffix and then open a locked prefix or suffix with good vailed mod meaning minimum 4-5 mods you actually want each time.

If they dont reveal a new way to get "veiled chaos orbs" effect, this charge will KILL mid tier builds, around 20 divs builds (not affliction divines), they will at least double the price and now u are better buying your gear than crafting usigin a 10+ dive orb that have a chance to fail

Actually you do not. As the person who was doing Syndicate for the past two leagues, the biggest trick was to assign Aisling (Vorici/Hillock) to Research and then keep her there at T3, which was tricky and fun. Now you need to maximise intelligence gathering and that's it. Overall, killing Catarina is boring, messing with Syndicate members was fun.

That is wrong speculation. Sirgog also got the wrong take. Veiled chaos are usually ridiculously rare and you get them mostly from Aisling. What is the change? Aisling t3 is harder to generate than Catarina fight, on the scale of the whole economy. So we will have less veiled chaos, but Aisling slam will be way more common and likely much cheaper. The difference is also maybe 30-40% of all Aisling generated would wind up being sold on tft. While now the veiled orbs will basically always be sold. More of them and all available. In the end, why do we care what a veiled chaos orb cost? It's not relevant as a data point once you rolled your suffixes with essences and wild bristle matron the prefixes. What is the change in your crafting cost if veiled chaos cost more than 1 essence? Come on, be logical. You'll still use veiled orb to add movespeed, it won't be as ridiculously cheap. But it won't be the main friction point. It's not a Lock. It's not even a sacred lifeforce slam. It will not be expensive. Not going to be the main cost. Just maybe it cost 100c or 1d instead of 5-10c. It will be super cheap early league. It generally won't be a significant portion of your crafting cost. I don't think they will be worth over 1d each. It's just very easy to generate Catarina if it goes up in value. So no, wrong take. Veiled chaos was a non-cost, now it will be a tiny cost. Less than the rest of the crafting process, but more than nothing.

@@Lolcohol1d is my call. I'd be surprised if 2d before end of league. Not sure u said it, but veiled orbs are way more powerful than Aisling now, because u can use Locks. So you can use "Aisling" on the last open affix. Will help make some op influenced helm where u can roll all your elevated mod and be sure in the end, on that last open prefix, you can add +2 aoe safely. Not cheaply, but we are talking for the very best items. We now have a safe way to Aisling on one open affix left.

@@Lolcohol You did remember. Was about to say. Hot damn was I wrong. I assumed some sort of elevated sextant situation where you just get it every fight. It feels bad now. I see people just click reforge life over and over now because that's cheaper than veiled orb the prefix on your ring. Mana was made harder without the flask suffix and you also lose the helpful flat mana regen. That being said, I was very hyped to craft myself perfect 6 mods boots by starting from the prefixes (+1 endurance charge, 96 life, 30% movement speed) and veiling the last suffix with 20/20 chaos res. People never craft mirror boots, but it be cool to make triple synth implicit boots with the same prefixes I have. +1 endurance, 35% movement speed, t1 life (can't roll essence without frac mod there, since you want to synth it). Synth implicit on boots tend to be better than Eldritch, at least in some cases. You'd go +1 endurance charge implicit with Onslaught and the last implicit could be avoid elemental ailment or suppress or grace mana efficiency. Think those are the best mods for boots. Increased fire damage per 20 strength for specifically strg stacker variant. But they all use replica alberon these days, so the more generic good mods seem better. Now I know people do not make mirror-tier boots because that slot is never getting mirrored generally. Also even if +2 max endurance charges boots is awesome. It's so far less sought after than +2 power charge or frenzy items. But yes, usually I like being a contrarian to what people generally believe will happen, because the consensus often prove to be dead wrong. Like for example, everyone went mad buying all the veiled chaos when it was announced they were changing. I was selling them 1d each, then 0.8d, etc. Guess what, it was obvious if you threw millions of veiled chaos at the std economy... it would take a long time for the price to go up. So it didn't, they are still cheap on std. They have excess supply for at least a year before the price climb up. But panic buyers don't always consider things logically, imagining an endless std market with buyers needing neverending supply of all mats. That didn't pan out for recombinators either, those are still not going up all that fast in value 2 years later.

It is a stupid change, more grinding involved. They just do not want us to have fun in the game. Not about do not panic. It is just so frustrating that they add more grinding to the game. I bet you, you will probably have to do like 10 Catarina fights before you can get one drop. I expect the drop rate the same as for the Conqueror Exalted Orb drops. I have seen only one drop in 20 kills, so it is going to be a painful grind.

I think GGG wants us to check the dropped Veiled items now. Even before adding meta-crafts, Veiled Chaos Orbs rolled equal mods to the dropped items, but you chose the base. I do miss doing meta-crafts with Veiled Chaos Orbs to fix suffixes and whatnot, but I do now realize Veiled Chaos Orbs made Veiled item drops less interesting.

This veiled chaos removal is kind of a make or break change for me, it is such a massive nerf based on the assumption that the cost of the veiled orb will be higher than a old veiled chaos and prevents those important life/accessory and boot/ms crafts that are good mid game, this might be enough to make me want to skip the league unless they change it before launch.

Affliction league was the first time I ran through maps and actually did the end game, and not gonna lie I figured out pretty quick that they really need to have an orb for this Aisling slam bullshit. I'm glad they did it, but I wish they would have just added a currency orb instead of changing it.

Don't know about this. I can absolutely see why they would do something like this in order to bring QoL at the cost of a bit of time invested as we can get so much currency having the whisps/charms and other stuff. BUT, if you take into consideration the amount of time more invested needed for the AVERAGE player, not youtubers, hardcore nerds etc the time to get the medium level crafts will for sure put off a great deal of people (which is never good from a player retention perspective) and that's where the hickup might become an issue. I am always of the stance where it's better to let people be able to progress a little bit faster and be inclined to stay longer in league cause they can try out more and harder content, rather than having the fixed idea that everything needs perfect balance every time like a "fun police". At the end of the day, not a MEGA dealbreaker for seasoned players but for more casual/mid level players it's actually a big impact where there doesnt really need to be since whispjuicing and other things are now gone. It's going to feel a bit over the top punishing for a very small reason. Just my two cents but I can see it from both sides. Hope to see many more vids before and during the leaue Lolcohol, good news update like always!

I could actually be quicker to rush catarina than spend time getting aisling in place every time no?. @@Lolcoholyea i get it, i just wish PoE had more a commitment to have a fun and accessible crafting system. clicking thousands of times just to slam something to fail to have to click another thousands times just feels bad and thisll only make it hard and more expensive to craft. really big let down regardless

That sucks TBH. Veiled crafting early on in league when you don't have a lot of divines is pretty useful and good towards progression. Just doing something like suffixes cannot be changed and veiled to temp gain some gear progression then finish it later on with aisling. Also can't be lazy and just spam veiled chaos for unveils anymore. 😂

I think it's good change. We knew getting aisling slam itemized meant comming with a nerf. Also Veiled Chaos orb will have incredible value now instead of just being worth 2 chaos whenever you loot one.
