Satisfaction was the demo recording originally; the guitar riff, played by Keith, was intended to be horns on the next recording, like the soul records that were in vogue at the time. They so did like the vibe of the demo, they released it. Btw, the guitar sound has one of the earliest fuzz stomp box effects used ever, coincidentally.
