I just replaced the drive belt on my craftsman T150. It is a lot different than the T110. Only one pulley in the rear over the transaxle with a plastic fan mounted above it . Two small clutch pulleys in the center and a pulley system connected to the crank. It’s not an easy task but doable. Easiest way I have seen on KZbin is too remove the deck. And turn the mower on its right side making sure the gas line to the carb is pinched of. I drained my oil (it was time to change it anyway). And put a plastic bag over the gas tank opening and tightened the cap over it so gas wouldn’t leak out the vent.

I have a 6 yr old T1600. This looks similar to mine. While I was changing the blade belt, I noticed a big crack in the drive belt. I've heard these are really hard to change. But when I removed the battery and looked at the pulleys underneath, it, I noticed that theres a small pulley in front of the big pulley that you pulled off in this video. I found it easier to remove that in order to get the belt out of the way to get to the drive belt. I figured I might as well replace all the belts while I have them apart. I'm hoping I can avoid taking the front pulley off. I might have enough slack to do it. Great video. Keep up the good work.

My God don't listen to this guy you'll be there all day. First of all do not pull any pulleys! After the deck has been removed cut the belt remove the belt guard from the front pulley, slip the belt over the pulley on the bottom the large one as it sits there loosely feed the belt to the back pulley remove battery and plastic Trey slip belt up and over large pulley to the axle if needed take a large screwdriver to squeeze the belt in between the belt guard without damaging the belt. It's very easily done. Go back to the front pulley lift belt over small pulley if having trouble jump the belt on the pulley by turning the engine. Reinstall belt gard. Reassemble battery back into tray. Start your lawn tractor then turn it back off after 2 seconds make sure bill is all aligned and everything looks good. Reinstall deck and you're on your way have a nice day. Never turn tractor over on its side! No oil needs to be removed no gas needs to be removed! Use a floor jack and jack stands for safety. As far as I know, the tension isn't adjustable. It's created by the spring that hooks to the back. I could be wrong but that's all I saw.

Mines a Lt 1200. Idler pulleys that engage when gas pedal is pressed. My belt had broken and came off. Other than a fuzzy diagram, no clue how to route. Your video was close enough to get me started, much appreciated! About a 4 hr job including discovery. I think I could probably get it done next time in about an hour. Craftsman used a threaded nut as a spacer/bushing and took me a while to figure out where that &#@* nut went.

You could do the whole jobb without taking the front pulley off. Take off the stearing wheel and top plate, and then just loosen the clutch pulleys. 30 min job.

What in the world did you use to get the pulley off? Sure cant get a socket in there.

Worse design with how to remove the front pulley when you attempt to remove the bolt to drop them. The pulley spins freely so you cannot remove the bolt without resistance. Engineers are cool. Maybe next time put the large pulley above the smaller pulley to allow easy belt install? Geniuses
