No nails should be put into the flashing on the roof surface. Only nail on the upper fold of the step flashing on the wall near the top

Would to tac it with sealant on the bottom flap? Or leave it as it?

I agree except around brick chimneys. There should be one nail at the top of the step-flashing to the roof and use the the next step flashing to cover the nail. The way in the video leaves the bottom nail expose.

Is flashing 4 x 4 x 8 ?

First step goes on top of starter strip..no maybe, and theres no need to nail that close to the wall because your gonna nail through the step flashing anyway and yes some say don't nail flashing to roof but that's bs... you're nailing through ice and water and after 40yrs there's been no problems yet in addition you should nail to wall also, the step flashing available only allows for minimal overlap so snug is best...just saying.

should use a longer (like 10'L) step flashing instead of a bunch of shorties. Lessen the joints as much as u kaaaan!

And, the shingles should stick out of the edge of the roof like 1.5" out below the gutter

@@brownitsdown Yes i'm wrong n ur correct in maximizing the leakage joints and even cut short of the shingles at the roof edges, maybe 3" back 2 make ur customers happy when it rains.
