Thank you for this!! It’s great, so helpful!! I got this saw about a month ago but have never had a chain saw or used one much. Am trying to read the directions, but they weren’t very clear. I came on here and found this review right away!! So helpful!! Thank you so much😊

I find all craftsman battery tools work better with a 4 amp hour battery or higher.I find the bigger battery size provides more working power.Just my 2 cents worth.👍
@pioneerguy714 Жыл бұрын
Same here. I use the 2 amp hour batteries for small non-sawing projects like a little bit of fastening or something. I use 4, 6, or 9 for medium-heavier duty projects.

The internal gears on mine stripped out. The metal the gears are made from is inferior. Many others mentioned that the teeth in their gears stripped out too.
@CampbellCornLab Жыл бұрын
I did this with mine after about 8 months of regular use. I had several batteries, so I bought another one which. also had the gear come loose and fall off after one month. I returned it and they replaced it for free. Several months after this the gear fell off again. I like the saw and am considering getting another since they are on sale, since I have many batteries which allows me to cut a lot of honey suckle and burn these out even faster. Battery technology is awesome. Basic craftsman saw technology has slipped and needs to be addressed by the company. . I hate the idea of cheap disposable plastic technology ending up in landfills.

Thank you! My chain had come all the way off. So I took it apart yet couldn't get it re-connected. Until I watched your video! Good job. Anyway, I love this model for little home jobs. I have a TON of large trees and branches are always falling down. This Craftsman works great for those size limbs. 4.5 Stars. Half star deduction because it gets oily easily

I have a question! Do you have another video or can you explain how the chain tension should look and feel? My family just bought that same craftsman and I was just trying to figure that out right now. I have it taut, not too tight but not loose either, no hammock looking chain

So i have 3 gas saws all Husqvarna but just bought this one to cut downed limbs or just in case I had to cut in the middle of the night and didn't want to bother the neighbors. As I was cutting I was thinking this saw needed to be upgraded because it just didn't do it for me. Glad I saw this video will be changing the chain and getting a different battery. Still thinking about making some metal teeth to dig into the tree for a better grip.

Glad to see this low maintenance technology finally get into the market. I hope to live to see internal combustion completely go out of business. The constant maintenance on gas powered anything is absolutely ridiculous.
@pioneerguy714 Жыл бұрын
It’s good that this stuff is low maintenance. However I personally don’t want gas technology to go out of business or be unobtainable. Battery and Electric may be comparable to low-mid range gas equipment. But anything above 60cc in my experience needs gas because we don’t currently have the technology to make electric that high powered. But all in all, I see where you’re coming from and I always appreciate the feedback!
@shutinalley Жыл бұрын
@@pioneerguy714 Oil companies have been trying to withhold these technologies since the 1920s. It's only a matter of time before the technology gets so cheap they won't be able to withhold it much longer. We definitely have electric motors that have more torque than internal combustion. It's just not marketed yet, but it will be, and when it does, Im going to throw a fucking party.
@shutinalley Жыл бұрын
@@pioneerguy714 Gas technology has been milked for over 100 years. It's time for it to die. They have electric motors that go well above 60cc, it's just not marketed in lawn equipment yet. Gas still has it's tentacles deep in the market. For now.

I personally wouldn’t recommend it. Im sure it could pull a 14 inch bar, but with it you risk burning out the motor as a result.

I liked your video and subscribed to your channel. Well done and easy to understand. I see you have boots on which is really smart. You should also wear some decent leather gloves and eye protection. The last thing you need is for someone to hurt themselves after watching one of your videos and then add your name to the list of persons and companies to sue. Yes, they probably will not prevail in the action against you but the trouble and court costs is something you want to avoid.

Good grief, does any oil do? wo w 30? sewing machine oil? come one craftsman, seems to crafty for me. Overview good but what oil goes in it? changing chains? Really? Im still looking for the proper oil. Who knew a battery operated device oil? They could have thrown in a plastic bottle of its first oil. in the box. Craftman not so crafty.

The only oil needed for the saw is standard bar and chain oil. I would not recommend using oil that is not specifically designed for use with bars and chains. Any good quality chain oil should work. There are plenty of brands out there at Lowes and Home Depot as well as your local hardware stores. Below is the product I used!
