Craftsmen 20v 150W Inverter review!

I have one and it's a very handy little booger as I don't have to drag an extension cord out anymore. 6 amp and 9 amp batteries are highly recommended.

2003, we converted a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle. Two decades full-time live-aboard. We boondock exclusively. . We use the Craftsman 20v system. For a fan, we use the Craftsman 20v three-speed with the flip-head. On 'LOW', one 2A battery lasts a couple-three nights. . Our One-Month Review of this inverter: * works as intended. One 5A battery lasts about four charges for our mobile telephone. . In addition to those two, we have Craftsman 20: * weed-whacker * chain-saw * DA orbital sander ... and probably something else, too.

I use a Craftsman 20" chain saw, a blower, weed eater and sometimes the mower (though my lawn is too big for that mower) and like them all. I am glad to hear you like the little inverter...I am taking your recommendation!

Great series of tests. It would be interesting to see if the inverter-created alternating 110V output works well on electronics? Was specifically thinking router/wife and other stuff that might be sensitive to the inverter output....

I have the Milwaukee version. Put a 9.0 battery and plugged in my Makita battery charger. I was able to charge 3 Makita 6.0 batteries.

Can you please run a load and then test voltage while running maybe a medium load on the 120ac side? I wonder if the no load voltage of 103 vac will increase if it detects a load.

Thanks for the video Rick. What are your thoughts on running a slow cooker on low? The label: 120V, 60Hz, 100W. A video to explain how to manage the capacity on an inverter. I like your test but wonder if i am in the right neighborhood with the 150Watt Inverter...

You most likely can. However since a slow cooker takes a long time to cook things depending on the load you may have to swap out a few batteries before your food is done. If you need a low draw inverter with a bigger capacity I would check out the Jackery series battery inverter/solar generator I think you will be more satisfied with that, especially if you go camping with it.

Can you run a coffee maker with a 20V 4amp Battery using that converter?

Not sure I don't have a coffee maker. I do know they make 12V coffee makers for your car or RV it should power that. But you will have to get a adapter for that.

a coffee maker runs at 125 volts @ at least 600-900 watts.

It only turns on when you are pulling a heavy load off of it. If it doesn't then you have a problem as the device could overheat and start a fire.

I depends on how many watts the TV will draw. Once you figure out how many Watts the TV will draw you can covert that to "Watt hours". Then covert the size of your 20v battery from Amp hours to Watt hours and that should get you the estimated run time for that TV.

I think about 3 hours on average with the 9amp-hour considering that the tv draws on average 58.6 watt-hour

I don't think so because the fan sounds way different when running on the inverter compared to the grid. It has a very loud base hum to it when running on the inverter

The amp hour will not determine a difference in load capability between the bigger amp hour batteries, and the smaller amp hour batteries, the smaller amp hour batteries will just last shorter time Periods.

Mathematicly you are 100% correct. However I have noticed slight difference on all my power tools when using them or I could be crazy haha.

@@MillennialRick The larger, higher amp hour batteries can output more power all at once consistently. So they are better for power hog devices. But on low power stuff, the difference is mostly just the time periods.
