I love this technique for drawstring bags. It is the easiest, fastest, I nicest looking drawstring bag. I'm a stickler for things looking as nice on the inside as on the outside and like a finished non-visible seam and this fits the bill to a T. It's great! Thank you Vanessa!

are the little slots or openings or casings left raw when finished, is there a chance it will start raveling after its opened and closed over time or after washing, since that opening in the seam isn't finished?

This is such a great idea, so much better than wrapping paper! Your instructions made it easy to see how to adapt this for a larger size, a version without strips, or one with a wider ruffle on top, you could add pockets to the outside or inside, you could even use iron on vinyl to make it water proof, these are so eco friendly, I’ve been wanting to make something like this for storage and organizing, laundry, dry cleaning trips etc., thank you so much! It would be super cute to sew these with ticking fabric (or toweling fabric with ticking stripes) and appliqué or embroider something along the bottom or in the center to personalize it.

Vanessa, love making these bags, made mine smaller using 4 strips, and a little shorter, 18 “, I’m using them for thanksgiving, a gift bag for the table scape, everyone gets a homemade phone pillow by ‘so very easy’, and it worked out perfect, used coral bells fabric, very earthy colored fabric that match the placemats by ‘Missouri quilt co’, I love your videos, keep them coming, thanks Mercy G.

great tutorial. I have a question . When you made 11/2 inch square, the cut fabric will not fit because on one side there is a seam which will make the fabric shorter on that side.

Hi, I just made 2 of these...one the size you made...one a bit larger. Love them! My son's GF wants some to use for jewelry, make-up and odds-n-ends storage! Is there a rule of thumb for going larger...for instance if I go 26" x 14"...the corners being cut, maybe go to 2" or more? To let it stand up easier?
@angelamagruder59114 жыл бұрын
