Some years ago I went to a soul night in a social club at the side of Euston Station. I was introduced to a Scot by the name of Kenny Burrell . He was DJing that night at the 100 Club all-nighter. I asked him if he had the Frank Wilson original in his box or did he play off a carver to preserve the original. He there and then unlocked his box and handed it to me.

Still an incredible record that seemed to be custom made for the Northern scene, that big sound that was iconic of the Casino. Right place, right time in history.

I hear a different story about the recording, cutting, printing and rediscovery of this 7inch 45, everytime I'm at a night/do or out digging crates, and I've seen/held/taped three separate singles, which the owners all swear are the original pressing! And I'm certain they all believe their individual stories! Which one is true? I don't care, but just because someone paid an obscene amount for their"copy" doesn't validate their story! It's a bit like the Texan who bought "London Bridge!" Just 'cause he bought and payed for it, doesn't make it the thing he thought he was buying and paying for........
