Craig was one of the best late-night hosts ever, Dave Letterman acknowledged this by putting him into his second bought slot. I understand he's moved on since this, but the fact is late-night television hasn't been solid since it's more angled towards political satire. Thanks for asking his views on this and his endeavors for the future. The man is a legend, a great talent and through his own admissions, learned from a lot from mistakes.
@fe5018
@fe5018 5 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but Craig Kilborn had that slot before Ferguson so I'm afraid I can't buy into that inferred Letterman endorsement/acknowledgement, given the implications.

@@fe5018 and Tom Snyder had it before Kilborn
@fe5018
@fe5018 5 жыл бұрын
@@spam7797, oh I know, I'm not discounting Snyder, hes just not relevant to what I'm saying. By all accounts Snyder seems to have had a noteworthy show which would support the op's idea of the Letterman acknowledgement. Kilborn is the one that puts a spanner in the works, imo. His show seems so lame and forgettable imo. And he chose to leave! Worldwide Pants were obviously cool with him. I judge Letterman and Lassally for that.
@spam7797
@spam7797 5 жыл бұрын
@@fe5018 OK, I get it. From what I've read and heard, Dave wanted Snyder to do something in the same vein as his "Tomorrow" show, but Snyder had just kind of given up on that type of program. According to Rob Burnett, Snyder had turned "lazy." I remember liking the show and the relaxed vibe, but nothing too specific remains. I think I disagree a bit with you on Lincoln, though. I liked his relaxed, "cool but lame" vibe. I also liked that he was so arrogant and full of himself on the show. That's not a typical look for late night. But vibe and personality projection only gets you so far. There wasn't much to the show beyond what I've mentioned. Craig is obviously the best to occupy that time slot for CBS.

I still think The Late Late Show is the best late night show in history. The best there was and ther will ever be. Craig Fergusson (and Geoff Peterson) did magic every single night and I miss the shit out of of them. I really and sincerely do. His chats with his guests, awkard pauses, monologues and so on would just crack me up over and over again. They still do when I dive back into old episodes on KZbin. Craig deserves a fucking spot on TV, or on KZbin, or wherever, with total crative freedom to do whatever the fuck he wants, no questions asked. Craig, if you ever read this, just know that I really want you back. I love you!

It's actually a social thing humans will do where they will mimic the accents of people around them. So it makes sense that your accent would come back in full force when visiting your family for a while. You may even sound different when you return to your normal place of living and take a bit to shake.

I'm so glad that this show popped up in front of me on KZbin tonight. I very much like Craig, and it's partly because of his honesty, and I'm thinking of when his parents each died and he opened up about it as well as when he talked about his problem with alcoholism. The thing is that honesty disarms people, breaks down barriers, relieves anxiety, and things like that. Conversely I see comedy often as a defensive activity or one that some people hide behind and you never see who they are. So I think that his honesty greatly supports his comedy, and I hope it continues to bring him much success in the future.

I am a HUGE fan of Craig Ferguson's. I so miss his LLS mainly because he is a Renaissance man who knew how to talk to people. Only Craig could get Mila Jovovitch to discuss Russian and Spanish literature on his show. I hope to create a show like Craig's someday, where being an autodidact is cool.

Craig is smart, raw and one of the funniest humans ever. After my husbands suicide, I could only watch Craig. I miss his show - how about coming back with a new format Craig? One on one. That would be awesome. Happy trails cowboy. ☮️💟

Went to work every night when Mr F's Late show came on. Thanks to KZbin made up for it. Always been a little off, so is Craig, that's why I love him. Dad use ta say remember the other guy believes he is just as right you do and the problem is he could be ! Thanks for this, just ordered his book.
