This is not only good because of the quality but to give the local people the recognition they deserve, as Antony bourdain intended to. This channel does more that any ufc athlete and it is impressive. Netflix type quality. Just that considering the amount of work invested in the video i would have put a better thumbnail.

His thesis is that of reframing martial arts: As a universal language for self-discovery and social connection, rather than a competitive sport. Jiu jitsu has the capacity to change the fabric of a whole society. Similar to the likes of Maeda and Kano in Brazil and Japan. Where Maeda brought a systemized approach to physical combat (striking, grappling, ground). Kano brought Confucisiam and Utilitarianism, and ultimately brought Judo back into Japanese society. It is interesting to see Craigs contribution to this. I personally believe his neomodernism, existential, and even modern humanism approach as seen in this video. Kingdomhood is cool, the accolades, and material stuff. But its just that. Kings eventually get dethroned. But If You Devote Yourself To An Ideal, They Can't Stop You, Then You Become Something Else Entirely: A Legend.

Several years ago, when my entrepreneurial career was about to turn the corner, a friend and I put our balls in a vice by forcing ourselves to get clients (we had no savings and were hopping from AirBNB to AirBNB). During a stay, a tenant and I had connected over jiu-jitsu. He saved our bacon by ordering us an uber unprompted, which we needed to get to our next destination. Truth be told, I can't quite remember his name, but I'll never forget his kindness. The brotherhood is real!

As a brazilian its so awesome to see the impact of BJJ around the world. I've seen so many people continents away from where the sport was born learn a little bit of portuguese, learn a little bit of our culture and history, and now we learn so much from every place where the sport is practiced. This documentary is a great way to further connect this community globally, hope we get more episodes!
