Hei Craig, How about this one:- Place me as a seal over your heart, as a seal on your arm; For love is as strong as Death and its jealousy is as enduring as Hades (grave); Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of light. (SS 8:6 NLT) Can Lord Jesus Christ open the seals of the scroll be symbolically linked to the Father’s love for Judah and Jerusalem? Please refer Zech 1:7-17 for additional supporting. That’s the beauty poetic writings; compares to normal prose, it penetrates deep into God’s heart and tell His deep feelings🙏

this is great Craig. So glad i stumbled upon Micheal S Heiser and he suggested and gave your credentials so I can trust your context correction. Please keep doing videos maybe even some sermons. alot of people are looking for guys like you to listen to they just dont know names and its hard to know a guys qualifications by a youtube video. I suggest putting a little bit of those qualifications in the youtube description portion, I have no right to make suggestions but i did haha. alot of guys wont even listen for more then a minute without knowing the minister is qualified to divide the Word of Truth. Thanks for doing this stuff brother.

Pastor, please can you tell me why gospel of Matthew gives out of context proof texts? From Nazareth = ref Samson From Egypt = Israel coming out of egypt. Virgin birth = Isaiah is giving a prophecy to Ahaz. Before the child (already conceived) knows to reject evil and choose good, Azah's tormentors will be taken out of the way. All proof texts given in Matthew are wrong, isn't it? I mean, out of context. Please let me know an explanation as i am a Christian and the ground underneath is becoming very shaky. Thanks.

Hi Sam, I'm not a pastor, nor am I brilliant or a person with credentials like Dr Keener, but I've been massively helped by the Bible Project. They have done lots of stuff on Mathew, where they talk about some of this stuff. Tim Mackie, the man who started the Bible Project, has a podcast on Spotify called "Exploring My Strange Bible". That podcast had a couple of episodes on Mathew, which covers some of your questions. I would recommend listening to those! I've had a really hard time with Matthew's quotations sometimes, too, so it's something I've looked into. I think the answer is that Mathew is trying to show us that Jesus is the embodiment of all that Israel was supposed to be. I think that Mathew knows that the "out of Egypt" quotation is not "in context". Jesus is, in Mathew, depicted as the faithful Israelite who is successfully doing what Israel should have done. God takes him out of Egypt, and then baptizes him in the Jordan (as Israel passed through the waters before), then the Spirit drives him into the wilderness where he is "tested" 40 days, but Jesus succeeds. With respect to the virgin passage in Isaiah, I have read commentaries on this passage. I'm recalling this from memory, so I hope I'm not botching it, but I do think that Isaiah's promise to Ahaz had a future component to it. The opening 10 chapters of Isaiah all refer to the failure of Israel, but God's promised "stump", or "branch" which will come from Jesse. The interesting thing is that this "branch" prophecy is the subject of these promises all through Isaiah, so it's a bit awkward, I think, to read the promise of a virgin giving birth with no connection to this righteous branch who is given as the hope all leading up to Isaiah 11. I would encourage you to follow these themes as you read through the beginning of Isaiah. I think that Isaiah is trying to say that the young woman will bear a child, and this holy seed will continue, which ultimately is expected to culminate in this righteous branch fulfilling all those promises. Phew. I hope that helped. All in all, I don't think that the Apostles are quoting the Old Testament the way we would expect them to. They're not proof texting. Jesus really is the fulfillment of all the Torah. He is our faithfulness and he truly is for us everything that God's holy people should have been. By uniting ourselves to him, we receive all the promises of God which are yes. - in love

The New Testament quotes the Old Testament out of context.

The bible is a joke book. The context makes it funny. The believer insults intelligence with suggestions we travel with one foot in fantasyland. What good does it a man when he publicly weighs in on goodness as if the earth had gravity-free zones? "My sheep hear My voice" / My chattel knows what I tell them / A still tongue makes a happy life. Those controlling the present, control the past. A still tongue makes a happy life, "My sheep hear My voice", my chattel knows what I tell them.
