I'm currently upgrading to leds on my mondeo aswell the only problem is the dim and bright bulb when your breaking looking forward to that vid .. Cheers

Short answer - don't waste time or $ on the Chinese versions. Philips do something that looks good but very expensive. Am planning on doing a review.

Amigo saludos, podras ayudarme a resulver este detalle conmi ford mondeo core 2001 2.0 4 cil, trasmision manual de 5 marchas... Cada vez que hace mucho calor es cuando los seguros de las 4 puertas abren o dan apertura...explico: meto la llave y giro para abrir, y solo esa puerta abre, las otras 3 puertas no activa los seguros, pero al cerrar debo girar la llave 2 veces para que se activen los 4 seguros iclusive el inmovilizador se activa ya que las luces encienden... pero el detalle es al abrir no lo activa y solo lo hace al hacer mucho calor en el ambiente 45 grados centigrados aprox...ojala puedas ayudarme...

Been wanting to do this since I replaced the sidelights and fog lights with leds** but its the dual filament tail/brake bulb I'm concerned about, as you say its harder to get an led that can produce enough output to be bright enough for a brake light. Another is the reverse light with a bright white led. Looks much better than the yellow-ish halogen colour :) And take the lens out of the indicator space so that it's able to throw as much light as the bulb can produce out rather than blocking it and reflecting it off the inside. That and some leds (and load resistors to stop hyperflashing). Really makes a difference to the rear end of the Mk3 :D Subscribing to see what you find useful to replace the brake/tail bulb with an led ;) **Don't get much fog here so don't need to worry about their output, as I've used dual colour "switchback" leds in the foglights to include amber/orange in there as a second indicator. Mainly because I'm running HIDs and wanted to make the indicator more visible and not be washed out and hard to see next to the much brighter HID bulbs.

You need to match the brightness carefully and don't install over-bright tail bulbs.

Nothing good - the bulbs are 21 W halogens, and obviously white as opposed to filtered; nothing I'm aware of that would emulate the same light output.

I'm sorry, I'm from Mexico and I do not speak English very well, in my car, that light unit has no screws. apparently it works under pressure, but when wanting to disarm it there is a lot of resistance, I'm afraid to break it, I could send you a picture if I could have another contact

You just take the screws out and the whole unit will fall away. I'll make a video if it's not obvious. Don't try to install LEDs though, unless you found some that properly replicate the incandescent bulbs - which I never have.

No point in doing just these unless you're also doing the brake lights, and you need the Philips 21/5 for that

Craig's DIY Car already seen that, mate, just wanted to make it clear for other viewers who are thinking of doing this - if you only do the rear lights there will be a significant difference to the brake lights that looks pretty ugly. And for the brake lights you need the more expensive Philips 21/5 LEDs, cheap chinese ones won't do it.
