Dude feels priviledged, and doesn't want to earn playing time. Kirby didn't play that crap. No coach should. NIL and the transfer portal have, by and large, ruined college football. No longer is a free education, room and board, and, if you are good enough to enjoy the benefits of either NIL or FA, the promise of making millions in the NFL. Bear had better beware. The ditches on each side of the path to football greatness is littered with uber-talented, would-be greats who never made it because of attitude. His stinks!

The issue is much larger than NIL. As a teacher of 38 years, I can tell you that much of an entire generation was destroyed by Covid and the government/district's reaction to it. Students were in a situation where their grades could only improve and not drop. Additionally, they had a choice whether to do homework. These kids are not accustomed to any adversity or having to be responsible for their actions.

Terrible take. Obviously the vid was fake and ruined even more kids. But…..Kids were ruined when Christianity and accountability left. My son is 22 and they stopped doing homework when he was in middle school. The second kids knew their teachers pronouns and didn’t know god; it was too late. Kids are pushed through to the next grade so that schools can continue to get state funding. It’s a pay to play system. They’re allowed to fail upwards. Which unfortunately is much like the corporate world. We ask nothing of kids today. Just show up and we’re going to give you a trophy. I can go on.

Guys, please tell the truth! USC defensive tackle Bear Alexander, who had expressed displeasure with his playing time, is taking a redshirt season in 2024. Tony Jones, whom Alexander calls his father, told ESPN that Alexander doesn't plan to play for the rest of the season to preserve a year of eligibility. Alexander plans to stay with the USC team and practice, Jones said.

When Pete Carroll was coach at USC, he made it very clear that everyone had to compete for their playing time. Practices were very high energy and the boys rose to the challenge. There were a few guys who transferred. The most well known were quarterbacks. Playing time is not a given if you want to play for a top flight team. And if this guy thinks he can make it in the NFL, he's going find it's even tougher.

CANADIAN FOOTBALL MAYBE .. NFL they are so into psychoanalysis of players for sure big doubt they will probably pass. That is the worst advice EVER by a parent or guardian to a youngster. If he transfers to a college for sure it will not be a power 5 program, same reason quit on the team during the season - Nothing Worse.

The players are now hired guns. Loyalty to the team is history. The attitude is no longer what you can do for the team, but what the program and team can do for you. Everyone is in it for themselves, whether head coaches, assistance coaches, or players. The only way to fix this is for negotiated player contracts of 1, 2, or 3 years, not unlike in the NFL.

Set up a Collegiate league in a bag League 1 League attracts Collegiate players who want to play in the NFL but also want to get a degree if that doesn't work out. The bag League will a track players who are not interested in an education and just want to get to the NFL which at best only 50% of the athletes will make it. It's an all or nothing gamble.

Its happening in high school. However, it's not the players' fault. If you sell kids on being a pro is the only thing that matters, they will act accordingly. That means, its not about team, not about winning. Its only personal success that matters, and that means i cant sit on the bench. Again, it isnt their fault. Coaches and teams made it this way.

Every single last player should have the right and and ability to go get that money while they can. Most dudes have zero shot at getting into the league. Most dudes will end up with average or slightly above average jobs where they'll likely still struggle at times to raise and support a family. They need to get that money while they can and they should use whatever leverage they got to their advantage.... Sorry not sorry.... Football is their job and they generate millions each year for a lot of these schools. Aint no one going to bitch at Ted in accounting for leaving and taking a new job at another company for a higher wage and maybe even a promotion. But we wanna dog pile these young dudes and say "they dont care about the team anymore".... Like get outta here with that. This has always been about money and playing some ball.... Every one of these young dudes wants to make it in the league.... Only a small number will make it in, and an even smaller number will last and be able to make it a career. Stop shitting on these young dudes. SMH..... 😒

I disagree. Dude got his money, last year AND this year. He was a starter, last year, and it was ALWAYS HIS JOB TO LOSE. He got a dude that came in from the NFL, championship winning team, HOF player coached, in Coach Henny. Why are people passing him over for starts and play time? From the time the new staff came in till this game, he's had the SAME amount of time the starters did to learn the system, hone his technique, and prove he deserves to start. Yes he has the right to get money. He isn't leaving because of the money. He's leaving because he thinks he should start. If he makes it to the NFL and they don't start him, will you have that same opinion? If he's paid millions to ride the bench and develop, and he wants out because he thinks he should start, will you have the same opinion? When he transitions to becoming a PROFESSIONAL, doesn't get his way, will he behave like this? If he can't take this, HOW do you expect him to take it from the likes of Sharpe, Stephen A., Cowherd, and the rest of the talking heads? If your comment was about the UNLV dude, then I agree with you. If your comment was about Bear, I think it's way off the mark.
