Hi Stephanie I've tried your recipe today, and I have to say these scones are absolutely gorgeous. I've never tried to bake scones before. I'd like to thank you for your channel. It's full of amazing baking recipes and smart tricks. And the cooking measurement equivalents you let each time is very helpful for a French like me.

I watch alot of your videos every evening. I love the detailed description and that you say it in gramms/ml as well. This is so helpful. I follow lots of overseas recipes but get confused with cups. It saves alot of work going to google and convert it. Tomorrow I will try your coffee cake recipe. Have a great day and thank you for being on youtube. It's better than what I see on t.v. You're awesome.

Thanks Stephanie, for your detailed instructions. Especially for always indicate Gramm and Celcius. Actually I have a conversation table and the US cups and teaspoon/tablespoon measure units but it makes it so much easier and comfortable for me.

Hello Stephanie, thanks for another great recipe! I've tried a lot of your bakings and they always do well with my family and friends, can't wait to try this one this weekend, I'll possibly have to try with other dried fruit as in Brasil it's really really hard to find dried cranberries! I just have one question: I use homemade buttermilk (we also don't have it around, just as dried cranberries), and I only have non fat milk at home, do you think the lack of fat in the milk used will change the texture in the end? Thanks again! : ]

I used 1/4 cup butter, grated and rubbed with flour for your other cranberry scones, still turned out good. Probably little more sugar and less cranberries. I tried your biscotti too. Thanks

Hello Stephanie! Firstly, thank you kindly for all your videos. You have made me a better baker than I ever thought I could be, I am so thankful to all your videos and to you and Rick for creating them. I am wondering, and I apologize in advance for being impatient/ even asking… have you ever made croissants? I have made them 3 times and they never turn out exactly how I want them. You are very precise and I hope to one day see a croissant video from you. Sorry for asking. You are just such a big help. All the best, from Okotoks, Alberta!

i really love when you make things "by hand" - without a food processor or big standing mixer. some of us don't have those things, and can get a bit daunted by recipes that always show how to do everything in those expensive gadgets. i know that everything can be made "by hand", but actually seeing it done is so encouraging. could you please tell me what size "glass?" mixing bowl you use? my old stainless bowls are not that big, and i'm looking for another bowl which is larger, but i'm not sure what size would be best. (and i also want one for a no-knead bread recipe i found a couple of years ago, which definitely won't fit into my metal bowls... :-)) oh, by the way, you mention dried cranberries, cherries or raisins, but have you ever used dried apples? or dried apricots? i personally like the flavors of those two rather than using raisins, cherries or cranberries. thanks for another great recipe, stephanie!

As an English man, I like scones by default. However, I have coeliac disease and really want to make your version. How could they be converted to gluten free? Can I simply substitute with gluten free plain flour, plus a little xanthan gum? Great recipes and videos by the way.

Scone: rhymes with bone and cone here in US. Never heard it pronounced the way she does that rhymes with gone, but apparently it’s a thing.

Yes you can half the ingredients. If you make the scones the same size as in the recipe, the baking time will be the same.

Warisa ssb Scones are at their best when freshly made. You can store them a couple of days but they won't be quite as good as the day they're made.

Hey Stephanie, I tried to recreate this recipe but my batter was too sticky to handle (almost impossible). What I did wrong? I follow your recipe to a tee, but it doesn't work? Pls help me
@joyofbaking8 жыл бұрын
Next time you make scones I wouldn't add all the liquid called for in the recipe. Because depending on how flour is transported and stored it can absorb different amounts of liquid. So I would start with about 2/3 of the liquid called for in the recipe. Mix it in and if your dough is dry, then add more liquid until you get the desired consistency.
