+Benamax the big differences; Cran writes scripts, he shows complex examples of the lesson, he can predict dumb comments and play fun with them. He puts effort into his work, and as he has said in other comments about there more he could have done, puts out a concise tutorial too.

I have a BA in Character Animation, and I must say, you've grasped the basics pretty intuitively and are teaching them well. Very talented ;) For reference, here are the professional terms: Speed Up/Slow Down = Ease In/Ease Out Drag= Follow-through Wiggle = is here a combination of Overshoot + Stagger I swear, my entire 1st year was nothing but BALLS, FLOURSACKS AND SEAWEED excercies xD

For all the aspiring animators out there! The technique you use for movement to make it more believable is called "slow ins and slow outs". It could still be the same amount of frames but the timing is different. Also the "drag" is actually three different stages called "follow through", "overlapping action", and _then_ "drag" (there's lots of easy to understand tutorials on all this, if what I said didn't make sense).

I've known about your channel for awhile now and you never cease to impress me. Me, being animator, can understand how frustrating animation can be. But your tutorials and explanations make things so much more understandable in a easier and fun way. I always wanted to try stop motion, and i started an animation too. I used some of your tips ( not alot of them though because it was a class project and i had to do it with a partner who was less experienced than i was) it turned out ok. Thanks to your help i got an -A. later i thought more people should know about stop motion and how fun it can be so, showed this series to the animation teacher at my school and he instantly loved it! He now shows your videos for examples to the students in his class. Thanks so much for the tutorials! You're one of the best animators out there and i can't wait to see more from you!

How did he do a flip if he's screwed on the table?
@sweetest-sweater8 жыл бұрын
i think his (the puppet's) feet stayed screwed to the table and it was just his top portion flipped down for the most part, and then the parts where his feet were off the table were just done through cran balancing the puppet on his head in clever positions? i imagine you would be able to balance it considering all of the dense clay in the head and the cushiony yarn hair

Ah, the illusion of life. I'm taking an animation class in school and there is a video that refers to the 12 steps of animation, so some of this I really understand. A great video guide, I've certainly got to try it out sooner or later.
