On 7/11/2020 at 2:12PM, City of Riverside Fire Department responded to reports of a crane collapse at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital located at 10800 Magnolia Avenue.
Riverside Fire sent a large response to the incident. Battalion 2 arrived on scene and reported a large crane had overturned and landed on a structure and roadway. Additional apparatus arrived on scene and began investigating for any persons trapped or injuries as a result of the collapse.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that there were no victims trapped underneath the wreckage and no injuries to any construction workers or civilians.
Per Riverside Fire Department, The construction crews were in process of dismantling the crane when it suffered a catastrophic failure and caused the entire system to overturn.
The damage to structures at the hospital will not interfere with operations. The hospital will remain open for normal operations.
