Make sure you get compensated for downtime while your trailer is in for repair

Insurance claim against the company, they have no choice but replacing the trailer ✅

Do not except compensation for a trailer repair . Trade the trailer back in against a new trailer and let the company pay the difference ! Explain to the company with the lost downtime and lost usage of the trailer this will be the least expensive way for their company . Make it clear to them this is a new 2024 trailer !

The stamping plant I worked at only used c hooks for coils. No straps period. Too dangerous!

@@LEVEL777UP Tell me about it. Those coils were always in the air being dropped into the presses. No room for errors!

C- Hook, especially for banded coils,or Grapple! I hate going to those places where they use a strap or chain. Or even worse, places that use those hooked arms on chains and make you go up on the trailer to put them in the eye. Nope

Don’t accept no BS patch work. It better still look brand new after the repairs. I see some ugly repairs on box trailers.

Make sure D.O.T. reinspects the trailer after repairs brother .that much weight could damage the frame rails .like you said at least no one was hurt .

That's unfortunate, at least it wasn't driver error and the company you were getting loaded at is responsible for fixing what they broke! And don't let them slow roll you or cheat you out of money they owe you for fixing the trailer and money for your down time 👍🏼
@LEVEL777UP6 ай бұрын
Correct . If it was the drivers fault right away they will be coming from us . Im hoping i get a new trailer
@bachar-maqqabayisrael6 ай бұрын
They is no fixing that trailer. It's aluminum so they will have to replace it with new. Non negotiable.

Do you ever haul grain on those sidekit trailers? I know guys that used to do that for return loads.

@@LEVEL777UP some people did that years ago if they could not find anything else for a return haul. some people would haul produce on them also.

The big question is, why are they laid flat if they wanted them upright. ? The next big question is, why is it a metal deck when your carrying steal ? In the UK we carry slit steel upright or flat depending upon whether they are crane off or forklift off. Dum
@LEVEL777UP2 ай бұрын
They are laid flat because the crane dropped them . They were standing upright with the coil rack but the crane op used the wrong clamps . My trailer is aluminum not metal btw
@das58132 ай бұрын
@@LEVEL777UP GREAT NEWS. Here on good ole planet earth we all say that Aluminium (Al) is classified as, , , , a metal. Tarrraaaar! It's like all metals, nice and shiny and guess what ? When metal is placed on metal, it's frictional forces are so low that they will slide easily. Frankly, as an old git of a truck driver, I can't see any WORSE metal than Aluminium to lay on a flat bed of a truck. Why??? Because its strength is not as good as many other materials like steel or wood and steel. And, it damages far roo easily. But. . .its nice and shiny and doesn't rust. I refer you to my previous opinion. The SOLE purpose of the truck is to transport other material around. I'm certainly not interested in frivolities like paintwork or aesthetics. It's ONLY there for doing ONE job. Apologies for the sarcasm.
