Hi Shirley! The orange flowers you referred to are what we call Indian paint brushes! The bluebonnets are really just now starting …you haven’t seen nothing yet..just wait! Great video. Safe travels and happy trails! ~Jim~

Thanks Jim. I wondered what they are called. I’m hoping to find a place to take pictures up close of the bluebonnets. They are so beautiful!

@@FollowingtheYellowBrickRoad The bluebonnets (our state flower) are starting to show up early this year, but, generally April is the yearly time they absolutely spread like wildfire around Texas and especially in the hill country! Welcome to Texas! Yee-Haw!

The flowers this year are thick because we had some good winter rain. Jim beat me to identifying the Indian Paintbrushes. They are so pretty when mixed in with the bluebonnets. The purple verbena will be thick this year too. One of my favorites are Wine Cups. They are the magenta ones. Hope you get to see the flowers up close!

And we are at Crane’s Mill now! Nice park! The lake is 20ft low. I walked down there. Interesting walk. We heard 3-3-3 as arrive by 3pm, no more than 300 miles or 3 hrs (I guess it’s whatever is preferred). But I’ve heard many variations. That cute little trailer is still here, too! Lots of raccoon here. I’d definitely stay again 😊

Wow. I’ve never heard of a campground charging a whole extra day just because you arrived a little early. We never do the three three. We usually drive 8-12 hours and many times just spend one night. But we just don’t have time to follow the rule. We have a limited amount of days for trips and gotta do what we can to make the most of it. That’s a coe? and they charge for an extra day if you show early? Wonder if they all do that now. It’s nice that you can see the lake from some of the sites. That one camper looks like a homemade in the style of a cabin. Love the covered picnic tables. I’d stay there. I like lakeside camping.

Some COE parks are now overseen by the local county and have different rules. It’s a shame really but it’s a very nice park

Looks like a really nice place. How much does it cost to camp there? Boy Texas sure is flat.

I stayed 5 days. Normal price would have been $175. With my senior pass I paid $87.50
