i mean it sort of makes sense. you can tell what all the other bosses are supposed to be, like the circle king, due to context and appearance, but the collage god is just an incomprehensible mess of chaos and destruction... also imagine having your entire torso instantly turned into a guitar or mailbox, just running from this horrifying creature and suddenly you can't breathe or move because a string instrument has replaced your lungs and spine

Ngl…that ending sucked. He was at his lowest traversing through the gouache world and wondered if he even was a hero. Then he goes through a museum only to learn that all of the events never happened and he was just a painting the whole time, doomed to repeat this process. What a terrible way to end what is a good game

I thought it was a beautiful ending. All of the worlds he visited are artwork, so beloved by other people that they ended up in a museum, to move and bring joy to others. And he got to be a part of not only every single one of them, but in returning home becomes their equal.
