i remember when i went to ray hubbard to fish boat docks they were not biting so i put a minnow on the roadrunner jig head jiggin it up an down catchin crappie every cast 10 in. plus.

Any veteran crappie guy will tell you that a long pole is the best way to fish heavy cover. I even use a 30 ft. extension rod in the spring to hit crappie that are several feet back in thick cover. Ultra lite tackle is great for open water but you have to be able to pull them straight out of the cover when their way inside of it. A 5ft rod+4lb line+standing thick timber=lost jigs and fish.

I catch around 30 crappies everytime I go on this lake with a fake minnow jig. Biggest one I caught weighed 2.5 pounds. I won the biggest crappie contest using that jig.

@3oclockasswhippin Nah, get a Lowe boat, They're really good if you wanna catch Crappie. But, if you want those fancy trancy boats. Get a bass boat like Basstracker or Etc. But Lowe is the best. My father owns one and its really good for a 92model.

JoJolynxz _ almost every one uses a loop knot on jigs you put line theroug the eye And bring the line together with the sreat make a loop with those 2 together stick jig through loop pull tight to we're loop is a little above they eye them tie. A regular not one or 2 times cut the slack and it allows the jig to sit horizontially
