I have pretty good luck with the Bobby Garland baby shad baits when I'm fishing for crappie & panfish. They're on sale at Bass Pro now (not sponsored, obviously, just sharin' the good news) and it's a rare day that I bring them out and don't catch anything. The MoGlo are my go-to right now because the water where I fish is really stained. Enjoyed the video, keep'm comin'.

I always had great luck with the "Creme 2in Shad" in sliver and black. So cheap and caught more fish than the expensive baits. They don't seem to make them anymore and all any place seems to sell is the pre-rigged Creme Spoiler Shad.

Yeah the sudden drop in air temperature freezed the water as well, not fishing as much other than going to the small creek behind my apartment since I'm not willing to drive so much just to get skunked, especially when gas prices are on the rise. Glad to see you catching fish though.

Thanks so much for making your videos, I appreciate them. I especially like it when you take a bit more time to explain and show how you rig up your bait.
@davetheheretic2952 жыл бұрын
Which lure to use, water temps, pre-front, post-front, fish union breaks . . . too much to figure out sometimes. This video duplicates my exact experience with the same baits. Gulp minnows worked for me last weekend to land some decent creek browns in highly pressured waters. Crappie minnows have landed some trout for me, but never any crappie. For panfish, though, I've gone almost exclusively with gnat-imitation flies.
@ifishcatfish2 жыл бұрын
Alex, is there a way to fish this lure horizontally? I don't know how exactly u tie your hook and if its possible with that rig.. I wonder if horizontal presentation would make a difference. Although i dont think it would make it a gulp..
@RealisticFishing2 жыл бұрын
On a drop shot it could be fished horizontal. But the gulp is being fished the same way and the fish dont mind.

Nothing beats the Gulp! Minnow, not even a minnow! With a minnow you get a chance of a game fish but still a bluegill could steal it and that’s money down the drain. You did a video on how many one Gulp! can catch and I think it was over 20. I hope you’re doing well Alex with the chaos going on 🙏🏻
