I played craps for the first time last week on my first cruise ! I always wanted to play craps but never learned so I spent a month watching your channel leading up to my cruise. I was on a lower budget so I wasn't able to win a free cruise but I got some points and am hooked on both cruising and craps! I was rolling a lot of hard ways and 11's so the table loved me, I guess that beginners luck was there! Thank you so much for all the craps knowledge, I love your channel!

So great to hear you had a blast on your first cruise. Two years ago I went on my first cruise since I was a kid, and I've been on 8 free ones since! My wife, kids and I love it so much we chose to have our wedding on a cruise (the wedding wasn't free but it far exceeded our expectations), and that was a couple months ago! We absolutely LOVE cruising, and craps! All of our cruises have been out of LA since we're close, but the next free one is to Alaska and we can't wait! Overall, personally I am glad to see you enjoyed yourself and were successful. Remember you're on vacation and a good vacation is to kick back and relax. On that floating resort there are endless areas to do just that. The bottom line for me why I cruise is because of the cost of the whole thing. When you break it down and compare that to what is available you'll find that cruise's are probably the most affordable. Two rooms for me, we usually spend $3500. With that we get decent rooms with great service, unlimited food of all types, entertainment from many different venues. We don't have to travel when we are there, we don't have to worry about safety, there's always something to do whether you're alone or with twenty. I always end my night in the casino so now that I am aware of the comp's I can now work on that. We have been on three of the Oasis class ships but prefer the Freedom class. They are very similar but Freedom is a bit smaller so the population is less. You can really see the difference in the Theater and buffet. Other than that, there's not much you notice.

Loved the review. We had a similar incident on the Allure in April of 2023. We went to customer service and wrote a complaint. Got a call from the overall casino manager who asked us to meet him in the casino. The person was there as well and apologized profusely. They had reviewed the video and in fact determined the dealer was in error. Plus my wife and I each received $50 in free play and they adjusted our points. The Allure is old in the teeth but is headed for Dry Dock in "early" 2025 which is badly needed. You will probably be on the Navigator out of LA. A ship about 1/3 the size of the Allure. But, the Navigator was upgraded a couple of years ago. Check out reviews of the Navigator on youtube. There are too many to count. Welcome to cruising.

Thanks for the review. I took a 5 night cruise on Liberty of the Seas last May/June, which was my first cruise. I booked a balcony and they offered me to refund my fare except for port fees if I downgraded to ocean view so I already started off ahead and increased my casino bankroll. I was at the casino a lot and didn't stick to 1 craps strategy. There was 1 night where it was hard to get on a table as they were missing a dealer so only had half a table open. I liked using the all day strategy where I started with $25 DP then 2 $25 come bets then $25 DC and kept alternating with the hope to get a $150 average bet which is not easy to maintain. Otherwise I usually just bet pass and a couple of points and more if the roll was good. In addition to craps I did play a lot of slots because a lot of slots in the casino were "must hit by" and I would play them when they were close to popping as they were relatively low house edge and I managed to get 2500 points and Prime status. I think I needed 2400 points to get a free balcony which is why I aimed to get to Prime. The video poker was terrible so I didn't bother with that. Unfortunately they also had "invaders attack from the planet moolah" which I am strangely attracted to. I managed to lose around $700 but was a net winner in craps of maybe $100. I don't think Unfortunately my schedule didn't allow me to book a free cruise until end of May coming up but it'll be 7 nights in a balcony on Symphony of the Seas. I paid about $200 or so port fees, it is about $18/night in gratuities that I prepaid. There's also an expected tip for your cabin steward (I left $15 for 5 night cruise) and I left tips for the port guys who managed my luggage (maybe $10). I left out of cape liberty NJ. I live in NY so I take the train to Newark airport and book a royal caribbean shuttle to the cruise port which is about 20 minutes away for about $30/person. As someone who goes to las vegas and atlantic city regularly (maybe every other month) I find this very similar to getting a comped room at a hotel with comped food but you're missing the comped drinks for the most part.

Pretty sure the next level after 1500pts is 2000 pts (not 2500). 2500 pts would make you Prime though and you get an additional free cruise once the casino calendar year is over on top of the one you already earned from the certificate from your cruise, plus free drinks in the casino for the next year. To achieve Prime status, you just need 2500 pts within a year from April 1st to March 31st (that's the casino year for Royal Caribbean). So for example, if you go on Royal Caribbean ships twice between April 1st 2024 to March 31st 2025 and earned 1500 pts on each of the two cruises, not only will you get the 2 free cruises from the certificate you earned on each of your two sailings, but you will also get an annual Prime certificate in April 2025 once the casino year is over, which will let you pick any cruise up to 7 nights between April 2025 to March 31st 2026. (However the 7 major holidays are blacked out among a few others popular sailings). You will also receive unlimited drinks free in the casino until March 31st 2026. You don't even have to be playing to get the free drinks, just go up to the casino bar and show them you're prime on your card and you can order drinks at any time casino bar is open.

Most of the time you can 'leverage' your free cruise or casino status to OTHER Cruise lines (Norwegian, VirginVoyages, Carnival etc). If you can prove that Royal Carribean has offered you a free cruise most of those other lines will match it so you can go gamble with them! Most cruise lines will even match a Land casino Players card as long as it's not the base tier. You can show them a level 2 tier or higher PENN/MGM, Harrahs etc land based Players card and they will offer a 'free cruise'. From that I got offers from NCL, Royal, and Virgin Voyages, this was back in Oct/Nov 22, (I sailed April 2023). BUt should still be the same.

Can you buy-in with cash at the table or does it all have to go on your seapass card? Also, how often did you need to tell the pit boss to check your points? Congrats on the free cruise!
@ColorUp6 ай бұрын
I only used cash. Others who are at tier to charge chips to room without a fee, just do so to earn points or whatever on their credit cards, and after cruise, cash their chips and pay off credit card balance with the cash. Technically you never need to ask pit to check your points. If you trust that they are rating you fairly. but it would be a shame to go whole cruise gambling and find out at end they rated you half of what you thought you were playing. At that point there is no way to make an adjustment.

@@ColorUp while its true they don't openly advertise earn x points to earn a cruise, they value the "ability to buyin" more heavily than points earned. For example I buyin at craps for $1500 to $2500 and I make sure to introduce myself to the host and craps supervisor. And at every box switch I ask them how I am looking in the system. Just like I would at any land based casino. I will not lose more than $500 in a session but they don't know that. Also when I buyin for a larger amount and I have introduced myself to a host, they will often offer dinner at a specialty dining restaurant or massages in the spa. When they know you have the ability to buyin for more than what most people do they take notice and 9/10 times they slide a letter under your door offering an immediate free cruise. Secondly my wife ONLY plays slots and not big, $2 max /spin most of the time its whatever the minimum is. BUT she charges $1000 to the room every day of the cruise on slots but will limit herself to $100 loss. As far as the casino is concerned she charged 5k on the room. At the end of the trip she cashes out at least $4500 to pay the credit card. So she has double dipped, gets the miles/points on the credit card AND the casino sees she is charging 5k in the casino. She has 18 different offers in her online account that she can use 3 times each.

So, if the tables full and everyone is making a lot of bets and it takes the dealer time to get all the payouts and new bets taken care of every roll, I'm assuming that's better for your comp strategy since you can spend more time at table with ~$200 sitting there? Is that correct?
@ColorUp6 ай бұрын
Sadly no. While we estimate it by “points per hour” and that seems to be pretty accurate. The cruise ship actually moves a chip over electric counter after each roll. So they technically are basing points by roll per hour. so slower game, they know the roll count and would rate you lower. now in standard land based casinos, I rarely see them counting rolls, so this might be a consideration for a “hack for more points”

How many “No Rolls” did you see because both dice didn’t hit the back wall?
@ColorUp6 ай бұрын
not that many. usually a new shooter, who was a "dice controller" and took a while to set and do perfect toss to only come up short. they might do it twice then start hitting wall. Other than that, it wasn't really an issue.

How do you know what the goal of points are to earn a cruise.
@ColorUp6 ай бұрын
They have it posted right in the casino. It starts out at 1200 points. It may also be posted online?
@Matalvatz6 ай бұрын
So do you have to win all these points for a free cruise all at once or is it cumulative? So if you had come up short and chosen to pay for your next cruise, would your points still be there for the next free cruise?
@ColorUp6 ай бұрын
You have to earn the points on the cruise for a free cruise. Points would reset on next cruise for purpose of winning a free cruise. Your points overall do accumulate for tier status though similar to land based casinos.
@Aguelito796 ай бұрын
If you don't make it (1200 points) you will get like $250 off your next cruise, so I don't think is worth it. You have to go all in to get at least 1,200 points. The trick is to get longer cruises 7 or 9 nights. You have more time to get there. PS Once you win your "free" cruise you will get more offers via email and or mail. I have a stack of them, but I go and play roulette. But I need 2,400 points for rooms with a balcony, my wife's order. 😂

@WhirlwindWinery6 ай бұрын
@@ColorUp They are two different things. Ships carry boats. Probably doesn't bother anyone unless they have ever worked on ships. One of the first things that is made clear to us is to NEVER call the ship a boat. Really comes down to just a pedantic pet peeve. But if you take another cruise, please don't call it a boat around crew members. Just a helpful tip. Btw, love the content. Always like to try out new strategies!

@@WhirlwindWinery I understand there is a technical difference, and those in the know may care about proper language...but us silly land folks, will probably confuse the two in the future as well 🤪
