My mother was in terms of videogames 20 or so years ago when I was a kid, a beast. I remember how much she helped me with Spyro The Dragon on PS1. Finding all sorts of secrets like the below section of Metalhead or how she told me to chase after the red and green superspeed thieves to get to their respective hiding places in Tree Tops. While i was better at the game, she was a mastermind instead. Ironically, what held us up was level Haunted Towers. Until literally out of nowhere, when I grew older, the solution appeared right in front of me lol.

Josh Mancell had a fantastic understanding of how to make the music in these games sound somewhat diegetic. Sewer or Later is one of my favourite examples of this, the percussion really sounds like the pipes of the sewers you're exploring are being used as instruments. Also, people weren't as afraid to have some actual menace to their villains unlike nowadays, particularly for children's content it seems. On top of the fact that Josh Mancell was simply a legend of music making and Vicarious Visions likely didn't have anyone nearly as good on their team.

@thedraken5 Well, Crash has things in common with the ND games. Wumpa, the characters (most designs keep the important aspects of the characters, such as Crash's fur, shoes and pants, Aku's colors, Uka's menacing complexion), the spin, crates. Even some mutants are likely mutated from older enemies. TwinSanity's rats became Ratcicles (ice Titans), the old turtles became Magmadons, the Scorporilla was a fusion of the scorpion from WOC and the monkey from Crash 1. There's still a lot in common.

dr n.gin boss has 3 parts and n.gin himself has 5 hp. first n.gin will fire his lazers, hit the lazer as they fire. then he'll fire missiles, fire when the compartments are open. the final hp will be the main body, hit him before he fire as the beam will knock down the section
