Hang Eight and Plant Food have to be the only levels with two time trials xD One for the gem and the other for the relic :P

" Doing all this without losing more than the life I lose on purpose is not easy." Wait till you get to the later warp rooms. I recently did something similar for this game, and I lost track of the number of attempts I had on Diggin' It. Really like what they did with the music here.

Diggin' It is dreadful. I can do it without dying but for beginners and people who haven't played it before....Jesus. Cold Hard Crash too, and Ruination

Wow, I had no idea the timer started counting from the beginning. I always used an exploit in the original that added like 30 seconds to the timer for some reason... I would enter the bonus stage and then die and suddenly I would have more than enough time to finish the level... did anyone else use this exploit or know about it?
@S1lverArr0w7 жыл бұрын
That's for Plant Food (Lvl 11). If you die, the timer becomes infinite so you can get the Yellow Gem and take all the time you want to, just make sure you don't die on the way to the exit

Silver_Arrow It works for Hang Eight too... well, at least in the original. That doesn't work for either level in NST Crash 2.

@@S1lverArr0w Hey do you mind telling me by what metric is Plant Food "level 11"? Why not any of the other four non-boss levels in the same warp room. You can play them in any order and they aren't numbered in any way that i can see. I'd appreciate it. If there's an in-game "canon" order or numbering system I'd like to know it. In Crash 3 they had actual numbers and in Crash 1 you could only really play them in one order.
@S1lverArr0w2 жыл бұрын
@@babbisp1 CB2 and 3. CB3 uses the same metric established CB2: Levels are set in numerical order from Left to Right, 5 levels in every warp + the Boss. So for example, Warp Room 4 levels in CB2 would be levels 16 - 20 (Hanging Out, Diggin It, Cold Hard Crash, Ruination and Bee Having) If you pause the game it also tells you. It's been a while since i've played but I believe the level number is also designated on every warp room door iirc
@babbisp12 жыл бұрын
@@S1lverArr0w I discovered that last part right before I saw your message. More specifically, in the original PS1 version, each level has a number next to the portal. E.g. "LEVEL 01" is carved in the Turtle Woods portal. However, I wasn't aware of this because in the remastered NST version (the only one that I played), this system does not exist. The portals don't have numbers written on them. I remember standing up close to the screen to see if there's even a small number in there: but nope, no numbers. And if I remember correctly, pausing in a Crash 2 NST level just shows the level name with no number. So there is no "canon" order in the NST. The closest thing I could find is that, in the NST credits (around 8 minutes in), you can see a section called "time trial developer best times" that shows the fastest dev relic times for all levels in all 3 games, and it just so happens that the order the Crash 2 levels are listed in perfectly corresponds to the traditional PS1 version's order.

I managed to do it and it definitely wasn't easy. But it only took me two attempts on the blue gem path.

This is my favourite Crash Bandicoot of the trilogy and in my opinion, the best one. I like what they've done but there are certain things they should have left; The crystal and gem indentation above the level entrances, Crash's animations when he pulls out the retrieved crystals and gems from a level and the spawn entrance and exit animations to every level should have been the same. These things kind of made CB2 unique. Oh and some of the music....oh God

In this level beat the timer to get the clear gem beside the crystal and die then break all boxes and hidden boxes in blue gem path to get boxes gem.

How Is He Getting The Gray Gems And He’s Passing Up Boxes 🤔❓❓❓
@LurkingShinobi5 жыл бұрын
Because to get some clear gems you gotta do certain things. Like in this level where you had to beat the timer to get the second clear gem. Then commit suicide to start at the checkpoint near the bonus path, then do the bonus path and the blue gem path afterwards. You also have to get on the blue platform to head back to the part of the level where you got on it. Also there is time to get boxes at the very beginning of the level so don't forget those. Finally, all you have to do is get all the remaining boxes and complete the level.

Three questions: 1. Do you have the blue gem? 2. Did you die before reaching the blue gem death route in Hang Eight? 3. Did you know that you must beat the timer to get the second clear gem in Hang Eight?
