that's how the loading in crash bandicoot games works, it's very conservative on resources and only loads segments at a time for what needs to be seen of the level. this prevents long load times and lag

@@pyrofur_nx I'll change my question since it was written incorrectly: Why set the game to widescreen mode but only allow it to render for a 4:3 screen, wouldn't it be way better to have it stretched?

@@StuD44 I don't think it's possible to change how it renders it without heavily modifying the game code itself, but I'm not a programmer so take that with a grain of salt
