Honestly think it's maybe not even Aku Aku. The first and last time we see him, it's from behind and his feathers are stuck on with tape. AND Cortex and Dingo use him as a mask BEFORE they're working with Crash.

To all the people complaining about how difficult this game is : yes it's slightly more difficult but the main difference is that you've played crash 1,2,3 about a million times and know those levels inside out and now that you're an adult you don't have time for that so you don't get as effortlessly good at the game. the game itself isn't THAT difficult compared to the originals, ESPECIALLY crash 1. crash 4 is a great new game in the series and makes me hopeful for a crash 5!

I wouldn't say the previous developers of post-Naughty Dog games "failed". They tried something new with the characters and worlds, and that makes those games unique in their own right. If you really think about it, Crash 4 does nothing new besides the masks and inverted level modes. They also took a lot of elements (worlds and scenarios) from previous games. Not saying Crash 4 isn't good in its own right, but still the developers played it pretty safe for the most part.

This game is a solid 9/10 for me. The only thing I would like is more checkpoints cause this game is so hard. The only thing I don’t like is that AKU AKU spins around you. I would rather he just floats over the shoulder but it’s not a deal breaker. 1 minute load times you must have a slow console. I have a stranded ps4 slim and it loads a level in 30 seconds I have timed it. So it’s not a big deal for me.

Playing the game with Modern difficulty will give you unlimited lives, so with enough patience, you'll get through then just fine. I'm no expert but I can do it for the most part.

I agree completely with the score would of been a perfect ten for me but the double jump was to floaty which made certain levels very annoying, and I feel like aku aku was not used enough, first off I hated how he just circles around crash I much prefer when he followed close behind, second I feel like he was hardly around, I think I only got invincibility 4 or 5 times the entire game. @@Jack_80 I’d say 45 is a good price. But yea, the trilogy is a classic. 4 is on a whole different level of difficulty than the first 3. To be honest, I haven’t even beaten it yet, granted I skip around on A LOT of games so it’s not like I didn’t enjoy it, I just have an insanely huge backlog and a mild cause of ADD. Lol but from what I’ve played, you definitely get your money’s worth of content and the levels have all been really cool with cool designs and styles.

@@Urlastnerve i actually expected 4 to be the easiest. i just watched a review and the guy said he beat it in like 6 hours and it took him another 12 to 100% it. i thought if this guy actually beat 50+ levels in 6 hours they must be some easy levels. i've played 1 and 3 but haven't beaten either, i remember both of those games getting pretty tough though, i spent more than 6 hours on each and don't think i was very close to beating either.

But there have been several levels in 4 that have really made me rage because of the hectic platforming at certain points. I am playing Crash since the first game and I gotta say this one is quite disappointing. I've completed all other games with all secrets, relics, etc and I'm a huge fan, but this... Toys for Bob messed up for me really. It is only my opinion, I see many people love this new game but here's what bugs me the most: 1. Controls are shit - when you slide and jump it now stops your momentum, something we've done some much in the past now cripples us. 2. The controls when you ride Pura are so messed up. Speeding up doesn't kick right when you press the button and it lasts for a short time only, which also causes a ton of deaths. 3. The ability to belly flop after a double jump caused me a good amount of deaths (why is this even needed?). 4. The camera angle while rail grinding is very bad and makes you miss quite a lot of crates or not see obstacles in time. 5. The level design is quite basic and repetitive - there are no water levels, no motorcycle levels, no jet levels(I mean full levels, not like the jet section in Crash 2), no airplane levels, everything is the same. Everywhere. Just different enemies. 6. The dimensional map makes no sense at all. It's like they lacked any ideas on how to do this and just used the first game's level hub design. Crash 2 and 3 have a much more immersive design with their warp rooms. 7. I always like a good challenge and don't want the game to be too easy, but damn, some levels had me die like 70+ times. At times this wasn't an enjoyable platformer, but torture, and I've had a few good rage quits like old-time games. What I wanna say is the game is brutal, even more than Crash 1. 8. Too few checkpoints (yes, throw your stones at me now). The game's brutal levels have you play for a while, get through some insane obstacles before even getting to the first checkpoint, die, try again, die before reaching your last point, and then die a lot more times. Having the levels this hard, it needs more checkpoints to be enjoyable. 9. Bonus paths are at times even more brutal than levels themselves. I mean come on, is this a bonus or a death route? 10. At the first 2-3 levels Toys for Bob made some interactions with the levels like the sombrero, the TV, the radio, the speakers you break, and so on. After that - nothing. Nothing at all. Like they did it just for a demo and never added anything more to it.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time sucks because the power-ups from Crash 3 do not make a return. The only power-up from Crash 3 that made a return in Crash 4 was the double-jump, which is now a natural ability instead of a power-up. Plus, the crystals never made a return, either. It's just clear gems, colored gems and time relics!

I hate this game its way too difficult. I love crash 1-3 there is challenge for sure and also you can enjoy the game. Crash 4 is for hardcore games without social life. For me disappointment. Certainly not 9/10 but 5/10. Did not enjoyed the level. Too hard, too long and without modern unlimited lives you would not be able to complete them. Naughty Dog nailed difficulty and challenges.

I just think in some areas haven’t had as much effort for example when ur choosing a level that section of the game looks awful even though that doesn’t make a difference to gameplay . This really isn't an honest review. The game is good but it's not amazing. It's frustrating beyond belief because the levels are so awkwardly designed. It's not a game for casual enjoyment. You either play it because you like stress or you enjoy breaking your controller. It starts on expert mode and gets insanely difficult. To me, I deem this the worst of the 4 "main" games. I'll give it a 2.6/10. I have completed 100% of the other Crash 3 games multiple times, because I wanted to and because they were fun. I won't even bother on this because it's just WAY too difficult on retro, and frankly it's not that good. The camera angle are just horrendous. The new Triangle feature to make boxes, as well as other parts invisible is an unbelievably stupid feature. There are also a few levels where there's a checkpoint next to a bonus point, which shows me some incredibly lazy and thoughtless coding, seeing as bonus points act as checkpoints. Also, this is supposed to be an E for Everyone KIDS game. Not sure how I can play this with my nephews. They would have no fun playing this game, unlike me when I was 7 years old, and Crash Bandicoot was my first love for a game. Should have known this was just going to be another trash sequel, although with the flawless job done in the N-Sane trilogy, I had high hopes. It's been garbage since Naughty Dawg sold the license, and that's coming from a fanboy of the series.

Ok i disagree respectfully and will point out your argument with my own counters: The phasing mask Lani-Loli is used to phase some boxes and platforms out while phasing others in making for a few more tricky platforming sections especially when you have to use the masks one after another While i agree the checkpoint box by the Bonus level is a bit odd and it honestly confused me at first too not everyone is a completionist type of player who goes for 100%+ so they space out the checkpoints to match how much you do in the level and alot of times it ends up next to the bonus platform. I haven't played the retro mode but there is a modern one that you can switch to any time and it doesn't affect difficulty in fact i think it makes it easier because you have infinite lives the game just keeps a counter of how many times you died The game isstill its cartoony funny swlf with references to previous games and even characters (theres a wanted poster of Pinstripe Potoroo in a party level someone pointed out and would've NEVER noticed which shows the level of detail even referencing charaters in game) so i personally think it's definitely a game kids will enjoy (and as a bonus Crash as a series wasn't really that bog on adult jokes or innuendos (minis the whole Tawna thing from the first game) So i see your points but respectfully disagree Thank you for coming to my TED Talk

@SNAComics Hey bro I'm Not Be sure Of that if your smart you can see easy that they are Copying and pasting Oddworld and Ratchet & Clank games so The Junk Level is garbage Crash is About Crash and Dr Neo Cortex and the Jungle and The Evil Technology invasion and the wild Environment and Good VS Evil we love Crash Bandicoot so They did good in Dino Level but the rest is garbage it's doesn't feel like crash game anymore so when you say go play crash 2 and 3 that means that those 2 iconic great games are bad and this Copy and paste Oddworld + Ratchet & Clank shit is good or what ? SO your a fake fan or what ?CUZ you wanna see Crash bandicoot is not crash bandicoot anymore . bro i know they did best and better then last garbage crash games and they are close 2 and 3 but to be honest this new game have only 3 levels are great and well done and so beautiful i love the Dino level but the rest is garbage bro be honest.

Weird I thought the dinosaur world was the worst one. I feel like your complaints are more to do with the artstyle than anything else. I mean I think I liked the last world the most and that's very Crash, it also takes place in the same castle as Crash 1 just before the events of Crash 1 which is really cool.
