I remember one time when I bought a game I think it was Sonic mania I had to install a crack onto the game I bought to make it playable because the anti-party software made it playable. Anti-piracy software does not stop pirates it creates pirates because if I had known that the anti-piracy software in that game made it unplayable I wouldn't have bought it of course after I refunded it they removed the DRM.

Besides, in this particular instance the bootleg version is superior to the retail version because of scummy DRM: which is the entire point that the OP was trying to make.

Actually, let me ask you back this: aside from being the "correct" thing to do, what would be the advantage of actually paying and getting a lot of restrictions on your copy of the game, instead of getting the superior and more versatile version for no cost at all? See the problem? People will always gravitate towards the more convenient option. And even tho this was proven time and time again, publishers insist in placing a lot of restrictions and other things that are a pain in the ass to deal with, and then they ask why people are pirating the game with a surprised Pikachu face...

They wanted to squeeze the port release into the first quarter, just before the fiscal year ends. That's why we got this weird announcement as well. We went from "Later this year" to "Oh it's just two weeks after the next-gen consoles" because they noticed that the game is in an "acceptable" state to ship.

The always online thing has been a nightmare for me personally. I have a fairly stable connection, but there have been glitches in battle net that disconnect me from their servers, so every time I get into a level on crash, I’m instantly booted out of the game once the level is over. Other than that, the game runs fine for the most part. There were some extremely minute frame drops in a couple areas, namely boss battles, but nothing that ruined the game. I run at a mostly stable 60 frames at 1080p. Also the game plays great, especially with an x box/ PlayStation controller plugged into my computer.

I would easily take a locked 60 fps with no online over 120 fps with online and DRM bull💩 slapped on top of it which could actually hinder performance. Also to add to this a platformer doesnt need more than 60 fps especially when played with a controller and being single player. I got it the day it released on PC. I didn't experience any issues but I did notice that there's basically no difference between low and N.sane graphics. Which kinda makes sense because I feel like, without downplaying the work that went into the models of this game, this game is essentially just a bunch of stylized meshes with cartoony textures. The only thing they can really change are minute details in the textures and particle effects. So it's understandable that the graphics don't really change. Also, the always online thing doesn't totally bother me, but it is pretty lame and I think pirating the game might be the best option for anyone who doesn't want to support that.

About the N.Gin fight i had the same issue. The only solution i found is change shadows from "N. Sane" to "High". Other weird thing is the anistropic filtering max value in-game is 8x while the max should be 16x ( you can change this, but only using hacks). And there is no resolution scale option and it does not support Nvidia DSR (Dinamic Resolution Scale). Other strange issue is framing drops, but it only happens when there is a cutscene inside a level (it depends the cutscene and the level too)

It's false to say it only runs as good as the next gen console versions, it can run much better depending on your hardware. I have an LG CX TV that supports 4k 120fps and I run Crash 4 on PC at 4k 120fps. The PS5 version only manages 60fps and the 4k resolution is dynamic at that with drops in some areas. The extra smoothness you get at 120fps feels night and day, 60fps has long felt to me like what 30fps feels to people that play at 60fps. You're really nitpicking in this video, a missing tree in a brief cutscene, really dude? Downvoted.

They did, not too long ago a patch came out for Crash 4 and one of the things it did was enlarge Polar's hitbox so that it's easier to hit all the boxes, and I think they did the same thing with the alien from Crash Landed

I'm not sure how you had such major performance issues. I snagged the game on PC when it dropped and the only performance issue I encountered was what you mentioned about the N Gin boss, but dumbed down. The only time frames skipped was during the intro sequence, and only when it was zoomed in on the cockpit, which makes me think there's some kind of render issue in that scene. However, it only ever happened when they focused on the cockpit. Game never crashed, frames didn't tank throughout the whole battle, nothing. Really dunno what happened on your end.

Unfortunate, my internet crashes randomly for a long period of time sometimes and and i dont wanna risk it just stopping me in the middle of a level because of it. Thats a real flaw they have there plus the playstation 5and xbox series x have the same and resolution and a good framerate too so ill just stick to the console versions versions to play them. One thing caught my attention (in a bad way), 1:40. Is 4K really capped to just 60 FPS? Since the PC-version itself supports higher frame rates than just 60, so would be interesting if they capped the 4K-resolution... Thought we were past all the 60 FPS limits by now.

And that's the thing about PC ports. I agree with PC being way better graphically, but sometimes we sadly get not-so-great ports with these weird PC exclusive glitches, stuttering and even crashes. Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure was definitely worse than this. Despite no Online Requirement, it has a plethora of problems that make it impossible to play. That alone is why later games had no PC ports. At least Reignited had effort, but this looks rushed.

I doubt there's any difference between nvidia and AMD GPUs. It should run very nice on 1440p with +120fps on max settings with a GTX 1080/Rx 5700, consoles can't compete with high visual fidelity AND high frames per second.

I mean... that tree being missing is something not really important, most likely an oversigth. The ligthing, for me it looks as good as the other ports. And to be honest, the very subtle saturation on the colors is actually better in my eyes. The only issues for me are the NGin boss battle lag, and the fact that we have to be always online to play the game. But other than that... being able to exceed the 60fps, use mods, and playing on my gaming laptop while i'm outside are the biggest selling points. So, at least for me, PC is the definite way to play the game still. Good video, though, but i think most points are not that big of a deal. :)

This game looks blurry as hell to me in 4k on pc which I don't understand. I've switched between 1080p and 4k and it just doesn't look any different.. It's still blurry.

It always baffled me that activsion required online at all times or correct me if I am wrong DRM, and if this was on steam it would be more forgiving but activsion does what they do

Didn't have experienced any issues on my pc so far. Connected a ps4 controller because I was not able to do the 'jump and slide' with the wired keyboard for some reason. I do reconfigure the controls between most of the levels to make the game playable. If I don't reconfigure the controls I can't make the quick moves required. Really hoping that they remove the always online requirement. I don't recommend this game as much because of that reason. I'm sure that a lot of people dont buy the pc version because of the always online requierement. Hopefully.I'm wrong because I'm not planning to buy any more consoles but love to see more (and faster) games like these on pc..

So I have the PC version and it's the first version I played so I want to talk about your points. 1. So you talked about that it doesn't run any better than the new Xbox and PS5 but that could just be that the game was made for PS4 and Xbox One first so when they brought to the new generation which basically runs like mid end PC's the difference isn't as apparent like how the last generation ran it. 2. I don't think 95% of people are really going to notice small minuet differences with lighting and details in the middle of gameplay or the cutscenes so I don't really see the big deal with that and the same with random details missing. I don't really think most people will care about stuff like a random tree missing. 3. I think the crashing (lol) and stuttering is just your PC since mine had no problems whatso ever and I ran the game on max settings the whole time. 4. I do agree that it's pretty dumb to have to be online to play the game. I think what maybe the reason for that is because your Activision account is connected to the game where it's saved on a system similar to cloud. That's the only way I could think of it being constantly online. This isn't suppose to be mean spirited in anyway I just wanted to give the view point of someone who played the game on PC first before the console versions.

I was going to get this on PC, but now knowing about it needing to be online to play constantly, and it not being on Steam I'll just get one of the console versions. Though knowing me I'll probably get the PC port too just for those mods

Odd that you had stuttering. I've played through and had no issues whatsoever. N Sane settings and it's held 60fps with no problem, while recording. Admittedly I'm only running it at 1280x720, because that's my monitor size. i5-4690 and GTX 1050Ti, which is a bit outdated for a gaming PC. It definitely pushed the GPU at times, but I only noticed one slight stutter, at the start of the grind rail leading to the N Tropy boss fight.

The always online shit is the deal breaker for me. I live in area with superb connection, but it's the princible. No fucking online requirements for single player games!

If they remove the always online DRM, I'll buy it. As it stands, I'm disappointed at that part the most. Otherwise, I would have bought it no hesitation. Really stupid that it didn't release on Steam like the N. Sane Trilogy.

DS4windows now supports haptic feedback too so im using a ps5 controller to play it on pc
