I don't think the remake looks bad at all but I think this is where the polygons do their tricks better. They are better telegraphed. Limitations/older graphics are not always inferior~

When you jokingly said crash should have been a puzzle game, that reminded me of the mario maker community. I don't know if you have been following the community, but a huge part of popular levels are puzzle levels, that test your knowledge of how mario mechanics interact with eachother. I find it unbelievable how complex some of this puzzles can be and incredible how creative a community can be.

This probably isn't the best place to say this, but if you're interested in the Fallout games, I would recommend starting with New Vegas. A good amount of its dev team worked on the first 2 games, so unsurprisingly it's a lot closer to their tone and design philosophy than 3 & 4 are. It also gives a much better sense of direction. As much as I love the first 2 games, they come from that kind of odd point in CRPG history where you can very easily miss half the game's content and have no real idea on where to go.

Seriously, anyone considering playing Fallout should just start with Fallout 1. New Vegas is marginally better than 3 but 3 is complete and utter trash so that's not a metric for success. As much as i enjoyed NV in comparison, it is nothing but a pale imitation of the originals. 4 is not even an RPG so it's not worth discussing.

As someone who has played 1, 2, 3, NV and 4, NV is easily the best game in the series by a wide margin. Has all of the roleplaying, tone and charm of 2 but has a more interesting world to explore, and the 3D gameplay is just more enjoyable and immersive.

No, the FPS gameplay is not more enjoyable and immersive, it is antithetical to Fallout being an RPG series by injecting factors like reaction time and aiming to the actual Action Point semi-turn-based combat system of Fallout, in addition to making Action Points basically useless outside of VATS, and fuck aiming down sights compensating for low weapon skill. The carefuly crafted pre-rendered character portraits of 1 and 2 are also infinitely better than the derpy 3D models with the stiff animations flapping their lips at you like upside down trashcans. A more interesting world to explore than Fallout 1? In what world with whose standards does that bullshit fly? New Vegas is a great game overall but it has a large amount of filler pointless dungeons to pad the playtime and the main quest is lackluster. If anything, the best written most emotionally powerful content is all in the DLC, which gives it an awesome-experience-to-padding ratio that Fallout 1 and 2 just don't have, because they are literally devoid of filler content.

Sunderfury different strokes, as is the case for most games. I certainly could see an arguement made for either 2 or NV as being the best in the series, but the 2D visuals and point-and-click setup will always make it inferior to NV in my eyes. These two games and maybe Fallout 1 best exemplify what the series is about. After that point it's just a matter of taste. Though some people even prefer 4 to the rest and I politely consider those few crazy :)

They did NOT fuck up samurai jack season 5. The ending was hit or miss but considering it is barely a minute of 'huh?' at worst and followed 9.98 episodes of weapons grade awesome it's not something that ruined the season and it DEFINITELY didn't ruin the series. Given that the status quo was literally no ending I would go so far as to say it's still an improvement, and I'm one of the ones who didn't like it, the ending still has its supporters.
