definitely me. It took me AGES to beat this guy as a kid. So much so that when I beat him the first time I was done with the game. I didn't want to do the time trials to race him again xD Coming back to it now though I was able to beat him relatively easily.

It just occured to me the reason the track is shortened is because the track's setting does not take place during velo's circuit. It would be as if you showed up to a racetrack when no races were scheduled that day.

Don't get me wrong, I praise the hard work Beenox and other studios involved put on making both the track and song... But I personally prefer the originals. The tension of the original plus the track being one of the longest and most challenging to learn and beat was amazing, and this remade didn't do the justice Hyper Spaceway so rightfully deserves.

I also prefer the length of the original course. That middle part where you go into the engine of the floating planet is so cool and the fact they didn't include a non anti-gravity version of it in CTR NF really saddened me because it's one of my favourite courses from Nitro Kart

Tbh the original really gave off a "otherworldly space-race" kind of theme, with the slight echo of instruments and the unusual mix of instrument types that somehow worked together yet segmented the music very noticably. The segmented nature of the music even fitted well with the fact the original track was cut into vastly different sections that had their own challenges. But this music feels too... Blended together and mixed. The constant back beat being a example.

I think this one does a better job at being a CTR track rather than a CNK track. It fits the atmosphere here, compared to CNK. I think the original's tension is because you're fighting a galaxy champion. But this one ain't half bad too!

I think they shortened it in fear the track may take just as long to finish as the original, when it reality, CTR's speed is a lot faster than CNK's. Nitro Kart's speed was far slower, which resulted in it being a long track to begin with. I do hope that with community feedback, they're prepared to re-add that cut part back in, it's pretty simple if this level has the blinking mechanic inputted into the track.

CTR songs are mostly just random noise with a few outstanding notes that define the whole song. Hyper Spaceway is one the best tracks in that regard, with that intimidating trumpet noise bringing those defining notes to the song. I love this theme so much. (In case you're wondering, Drive-Thru Danger's music is one of those songs that is memorable because the whole song is memorable and not because it's random noise with defining parts like Hyper Spaceway's music)

I really hated the gameplay in nitro kart but it had some good tracks with great soundtracks. It would be cool to have the adventure mode of Nitro kart with the new mechanics of nitro fueled.

Imo the original theme was better. The original sounded more sinister, like losing was NOT an option against Emperor Velo, since he'll destroy your planet if you lose. This one sounds like you're racing in an exhibition match.

I’ve been hearing a lot of people saying this version is not as good when I can’t really tell the difference between them. Yeah, I know there’s the more pronounced bass guitar and the trumpets are slightly different (or even better, dare I have an option that somehow offends CNK players), but what’s everyone complaining about? Both have the same excitement and tension of a final boss.
