I have some thoughts! *Barin Ruins* I think is a good track overall, but the art direction does let it down. The pink doesn't do it any favours and it has a problem with contrast that makes it look very flat. *Meteor Gorge* I actually really like, it's a nice breather from the more complicated courses without being as simple as Coco Park, and it has better contrast than Barin Ruins. *Inferno Island* I feel suffers because it is a blatant copy of Crash Cove, but is even simpler than that track so it doesn't compare well. Other than that it isn't bad for me, just really uninteresting and unnecessary. *Turbo Track* I think is an okay track, I feel the triple hairpin is really so that leads don't become TOO enormous. But I agree that it takes a good while to figure out how you're supposed to take those turns. *Dragon Mines* I feel is a deserved entry, but purely for its latter half with the corkscrew and the wooden pillars. The first half is actually not that bad IMO!

I like Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge a lot. Sure, they don't have much in them, but that works in their favor as you can optimize power slides and the shortcuts to the max. And what about freaking Cortex Castle? That track is the father of all speed killers ever!

If you practice enough you can easily keep your speed by U-turning on Cortex Castle, it's actually my favorite track

My top 5: 1. Inferno Island. It's Coco Park without the corner cutting and online play revolves around who can boost chain longer or gets more missiles, shields or masks than the others. 2. Coco Park. It's a wide circle where you boost chain all race. Only saving grace is corner cutting's fun. 3. Oxide Station. Great boss race, pain in the butt to race online. 4. Crash Cove. Up until the bridge it's great, then it turns into Inferno Island. 5. Papu Pyramid. Fun offline or in Adventure mode but online play boils down to who can do 2 shortcuts the most consistently which makes the race's outcome more deterministic and thus more boring.

I was lucky enough to get oxides trial on dragon mines in 15 minutes or so. The only track in the game that gave me trouble was sewer speedway which took about 2 hours

Personally I like all the tracks in this game. Out of the ones I like the least tho (but don’t hate), it’d go to Blizzard Bluff, soley because of that shortcut. That shortcut and its difficulty to perform it was the reason it took me THREE HOURS to complete N Tropy’s time trial race. Still a good track overall tho. But dear god that time trial race took forever to complete (I also never played the original). Dragon Mines is also a bit of a pain too I have to agree

Damion Wood this happened to me. Not sure if it happened to you. I did everything right, drifting on the boost panel, performing tricks on the jumps, but more than half of the time, my reserves just cut out and I lost my speed (even when I didn’t hit anything) and I ended up not making the jump. Also that snow hill shouldn’t be a Wall I agree

Meteor Gorge? No way, man. That's one of my favourites. It's short, fast, tight has so many hills, a huge drop near the start and a shortcut that seems like every one expect me can do flawlessly. I agree with the others, but I would've traded this for something like Dingo Canyon. Now, there's a track that sucks.

thank you! Yea I never said this was a matter of fact (kinda hard to determine it) but I sat down and I had a huge session playing through every track end to end and just judged my feelings. Most tracks were positive, but I felt 4 and 5 just kinda fell flat in comparison to my thoughts and experience. Like I had said I don't think their bad, just kinda, bland. I personally really like 5-3 in this list and Dragon mines I totally forgive because ever since they put in a real dragon it went from least liked to absolutely dreamy for me. Here's my list 5-Pint Stripe's boss track-Too long and repetitive 4-Slide colosseum Boring- 3 turbo race thing- as mentioned terrible turns 2-PS4 exclusive track same thing just even more boring 1 Cortex castle= Millions of speed destroyers due to crappy tight turns.

Meteor Gorge and Inferno Island are designed to be easy tracks in CNK because if you played the Adventure mode in CNK you’ll notice as you progress from world to world the tracks become harder and these two are the first tracks you play in on Terra and Barin planets

My two cents? 5. Barin Ruins is alright, but thats it. The rock trap can ruin (no pun intended) your race entirely, and the elevated stones can kill your Sacred Fire just by lightly scraping them. 4. I like Meteor Gorge, it's not too simple like some of the other courses, has a nice racing line and I can keep going fast without massive interruptions from horrible track hazards. 3. Inferno Island is just another Crash Cove or Coco Park. Long, wide, boring, and nothing but a huge ass shooting gallery. Coco Park is at least pretty, but it's still not fun. 2. Turbo Track is again, alright. The hairpin turns can make or break your race but if you know how to U-Turn you can demolish them pretty quickly. Also, I like stadium tracks. 1. Yes. The Corkscrew can go to hell, and so can the minecarts. I can get around the Corkscrew fairly easy, but it's a speed killer and just isn't fun. The minecarts can also be unavoidable at times. Doesn't help that I find mineshaft levels and tracks really boring in general.

Barin Ruins and Meteor George are good imo. My top 5 worst are 1: Inferno Island. Just a more boring night theme Crash Cove. 2: Dragon Mines: That turn is terrible and kills the fun. 3: Coco Park. Just so plain. No jumps, no white flame boosts, no crazy twists or turns. 4: Turbo Track.The 3 U turns kill the momentum, which is no fun in this game. 5: Crash Cove: This is actually a track I enjoy, but it's just too short. I agree with Barin ruins and Metor Gorge, it feels lack luster compared to other nitro kart courses. I'm alright with inferno island, don't hate it or love it. I disagree with Tubo track. The turns are very easy while using u-turning. I guess no one else knows how to turn? As for Dragon mines I actually like the track. It always had a hard turn, and in the original CTR your powerslide would be cancelled for no reason so I got used to it. Also people should learn to JUST TAKE THE RAILROAD! It is literally easier and just about the same speed if not faster if you know how to take it right. The mine kart won't even hit you if you just drive on the left near the wall then jump off back onto track instead of going all the way through. I don't know why no one else knows this but me? One track I would add to this list is sewer speedway. I used to love it in the original but, they ruined the short cut, the barrel hit boxes are obnoxiously larger then they should be, and they added pipes for cosmetic reasons but you can actually hit them while jumping which wasn't in the original. I can deal with the the last 2 but the shortcut being bugged isn't okay at all.

I have no hate of any of those tracks, I only don't like 3 maps if they come online match and those are 3. Papu's pyramid 2. Sewer speedway and 1. Blizzard Bluff all those 3 maps has same hate rule and it is: If you f*ck up or get hit by player even once you can be sure that you can't catch whoever is at #1 spot. (ofc depends of players what you get against but mostly times there is always that one dominant)

My top 5 worst tracks (not in order) 5. Slide Coliseum / Turbo Track It just feel like the most bland tracks in the game, I played once or twice and never felt like playing it again and I put them at the same spot since they just look the same only one is night and one is day... 4. Dingo Canyon I kinda dislike how the track design is and the wild animals rolling are damn annoying, I always go into one without wanting. 3. Dragon Mines Same raisons... I hate that bridge, but the idea look great just ruined by the track design... 4. Oxyde Station I dislike how small the track is, you got to pratice a ton to not touch the wall since the wall are close to each other but the jump into space is pretty cool tho. 5. Deep Sea Driving The track hasard in this track are out of control, it's almost impossible to do an perfect run consistantly since there so many blades to dodge. It could have been a track I would have love to have blue flames and run perfectly through but the blades are always in my way and ruining my runs...

You know how to u-turn but can’t execute it well. You can get through the turns in Turbo track and the bridge in Dragon mines without losing speed if you have enough reserves and u-turn properly. I didn’t see you do that in this video. If you could do that, surely you would have showed us. Instead, you tell us those maps are the worst ones in the whole game because those parts kill your speed (which they wouldn’t if you could u-turn properly).

Lol, are you serious? Sewer Speedway is by far the most annoying track in the remake. The half-pipe physics and collision are ruined, the shortcut is too hard to get right consistently, and the barrels look harder to avoid than in the original game.

Barin Ruins never was that great track to begin with. Meteor Gorge actually got an improvement in this version as in Nitro Kart it was REALLY bland. Now it feels much speedier than before and has more colour, making it one of the better small tracks in the game. Yeeeeah, Inferno Island... not even redesigning the track into night time could save this cheap Crash Cove copy. I ALWAYS hated Turbo Track. Even more aggravating is that Retro Stadium is built from THIS track instead of Slide Coliseum. I NEVER hated Dragon Mines but I have to admit this track has THE hardest Oxide time in the game and most other Oxide times were piece of cake to beat. Not a fan of time trials because how boring and time consuming that mode is as ya need to race through ALL tracks 3 TIMES AT MINIMUM(minus Retro Stadium and new Grand Prix tracks of course).

I love Meteor Gorge too ! I play this track with my brother the whoooole day ! Its smooth and slik ! Very fast paced !

Barin Ruins and Meteor George are good imo. My top 5 worst are 1: Inferno Island. Just a more boring night theme Crash Cove. 2: Dragon Mines: That turn is terrible and kills the fun. 3: Coco Park. Just so plain. No jumps, no white flame boosts, no crazy twists or turns. 4: Turbo Track.The 3 U turns kill the momentum, which is no fun in this game. 5: Crash Cove: This is actually a track I enjoy, but it's just too short. If they created a longer one with the same beach it'd be awesome.

Ikr? Dragon Mines too. Ever since I learned how to U-turn I barely ever lose on those tracks. Feels so nice to be in a tight race and then hit Dragon Mine's corkscrew turn or Turbo Track's switchback turns and just leave everyone in the dust.

That's your issue.... You're using the switch meaning every track is worse!

Whilst driving forwards hold down+right on the dpad, hold break and mash hop. You'll do a super tight u-turn and barely lose any speed. Just bare in mind that if you hold break without hopping you'll lose all your speed. I recommend practicing on Coco Park; it's a wide easy track and because of the turbo pad you can see if you keep your Sacred Fire or not.

dkmastere Jungle Boogie is really short though. I really like Tiny Arena, the great thing about are the high walls, many bumps and no shortcut. It means hitting someone is really tricky unless you're right up their arse. Power ups are an important part of CTR, but Tiny Arena is perhaps the only track where you can compare driver skills.

Tbh I don't actually mind it apart from the relic race being a bitch. I watched a few vids on how to beat oxide and ended up beating him by just over a second
