This is surprisingly enough still one of the absolute most believable reasons for a fight as severe as death battle to occur in the series. I mean, Crash wouldn’t think anything wrong with killing a bug, so it isn’t out of character for him to kill Sparx. Meanwhile, Spyro literally just watched someone kill Sparx, his adoptive brother and closest friend, right in front of his eyes. Of course he’s gonna be pissed.

I'm surprised Spyro didn't turn dark at the start of the battle. Sparx, Spyro's adopted brother who's been by his side for nearly his entire life through out almost all his ordeals (except the final battle against Malefore), was killed right before his eyes. Crash was dead from the start.

Darkrai the Dreamkeeper yeah he could naturally use the aether although only for a little bit and must “charge” his abilities. Overall, crash was incredibly outmatched.

You know, when I first started watching this, my thought was "Hmm... It's a small mammal against a dragon. I feel that Spyro has this." The I saw Crash's rundown, noted how durable he is and what kind of cool gadgets he had, and I thought "Actually, Crash might have a chance." Then when they started describing Spyro's various elemental abilities, I again found myself thinking "Well, the scales do seem to still be tipped in Spyro's favour." Then they got to the subject of the Aether and what Spyro can do with it. "Okay, this isn't even remotely fair."

Aside from Spyro being a dragon, because dragons are awesome.

Y'know, despite the clear odds in the matchup and the relatively "tamer" scale of the battle, this was probably my favorite death battle I've seen so far. I found the character expositions here especially fascinating, and the battle itself was smoothly paced. The feel of the battle also suited the tone of both franchises pretty well, too, being fun to watch without having to go over-the-top. This was helped by the interactions and even the lead-in to the battle feeling legitimately believable!

I'd like to remind you that having the force of an atom smasher does not mean EVERY MOLECULE OF YOUR BREATH IS AN ATOM SMASHER, which is what they were using for scaling. The Atom Smasher feat of his aether breath is NOTHING compared to a fall from orbit unless you use that ridiculous mischaracterization. Neither of them can hurt the other, but Spyro has been shown to suffer from exhaustion. Crash wins.

To be honest. I don’t think they would. The masks don’t do give crash any more options to hurt Crash. (The dark matter spin might, but I still don’t think it would be able to outright kill Spyro). The slow time can be countered by Spyro’s own. The one that changes the the tangibility of items doesn’t protect Crash and I doubt that would effect Spyro. And the reverse gravity would only give Crash more ways to move. So they would help Crash survive longer, but ultimately they don’t remedy’s crashes issue of lacking an attack that hurts Spyro

Crash has improved in recent years though, and even some of his old powers weren't taken into account. Like the wumpazooka he carries in his pocket (instant access to ranged attack), sprint shoes (speed doubles), triple Aku Aku (invincibility), and thanks to the latest installment, the Quantum Masks (reality shift, darkmatter spin, time dilation, reverse gravity). And most importantly, he can now actually speak quite eloquently and has the voice of a late night radio host.

Donny Kitsune Honestly, they shouldn't have allowed Aku-Aku in this fight at all, considering his presence breaks one of the main rules of Death Battle: no outside help. But even if we do include him, you're assuming that Crash would be invincible in that form solely based on him taking no damage from minor enemies and hazards that are far weaker than Spyro's arsenal, thus making it a no-limits fallacy. In fact, based on how he still dies when falling into a pit while 'invincible', we know for sure that the form isn't actually invincible.

Sword of Malnok 3D animation isnt actually necessarily harder than 2D animation. In fact, it can be considered easier, hence why big animation companies tend to prefer 3D for bigger projects. Sprite animation means that they have to animate the sprites frame by frame, while 3D animation means that they use keyframes (2 poses that the computer animates the in-betweens of). It also means that they have to create the motion from scratch, so in that sense the 3D animation can be considered harder. In reality, choosing 3D isn't really going an extra mile, more just using the medium that suits the purpose.

Edwin Perez oh same dude. I am a diehard Crash fangirl and Spyro is a damn close second. When this was announced I knew no matter who I rooted for, I would still lose. And with Crash's power and strength. He could have used his speed to get close while immortal, and beat him. His immortality at many points is depleted by being hit. As for Spyro using time and special powers, he can only use them so much and for only so long. Meaning If Crash saves his immortality till Spyro has to recharge, he can beat him. Though I do think it's funny they forgot Spyro's bubble breath.

KH fans like me have waited a long time for Sora to show up in Death Battle - not the 13 years it took for KH3, but long nevertheless. And I knew Sora and Pit have similarities in common enough to be matched up, but I never expected anything like this! Win or lose, this is gonna be awesome.
