What if a bus came? what if police or a firefighter had to use the bus lane to get through, and she was walking? besides she wasn't even looking both ways. Plus they still had NO right to harass or threaten the kid. a lot of people would've let it go knowing it was an accident, because who would intentionally hit a innocent person. And again even if it was the bikers fault the couple still had no right to harass the biker. If the couple used their brains they would've let it go, and with the "I almost died" she didn't and even if she did get hit it's her fault for walking while not looking first. so if she did press charges he'd still win with evidence through the video. They did park in the middle of the road causing traffic which can be obviously scene. The biker did not threaten or harass them, all he did was apologize. Couple of lessons to learn as a motorcyclist. 1. Keep your distance from other drivers. 2. Don't drive fast through areas and intersections with lots of human or vehicular traffic. 3. Never pass on the right and don't come up on people who don't appear to be paying attention. 4. Realize if a car is slowing down they are either going to turn or stop. Watch for and anticipate this. 5. Never change lanes without checking if you're in the clear from behind. 6. Be as aware and alert as possible, driving a bike should not be like driving a car, you should be tense and on alert especially in high traffic areas and through intersections. 7. Lastly, always conceal carry. You never know if is someone is going to think about attacking you with a deadly weapon like a baseball bat or hurt you for asking them to not park in a bike lane.

I wholeheartedly agree. I kept thinking that the driver was in some kind of shock about something possibly traumatic. That caused him to demonstrate behavior that was not normal - even for him - (parked in bike lane, agressively responding, etc). If that driver was truly a bad person, he would surely have punched the dude on the bike - but he didn't touch him. I know, even myself, after something truly bad has happened to me, I don't behave the way I normally do - and in that state, you can do stupid things. Read the book "the 7 habits of highly effective people". There's one story in the beginning about not being so quick to judge someone or a situation, that really hits home. Basically, a dude on a subway observes a man with a bunch of kids who are running around and misbehaving. It annoys the guy, because it looks like the father is letting his kids run rampant with no care or regard. The dude then finds out that they were on their way to the hospital, to see their mother - but the father was just informed that she died. The father was in total shock, and could not tell his children in public, so he was feeling all the pressure of the moment, and (looked like) a bad parent. Had the dude just got angry with that man, and blasted him for not keeping control of his kids, it would have escalated negatively for everyone. I have learned not to pre-judge anyone or any situation - because you really don't know what the (whole story) is. Be understanding, and compassionate. We are all people, and we all make mistakes. Let's help each other get through this life.
