It'd be amazing if you guys can do an "update" or introduce a new series to explain chatgpt and all the new breakthroughs in AI. For those not in the CS/AI field but wanting to understand, you guys do an excellent job of breaking it all down. And seeing how AI in general is about to really transform the world, I think it'd be an amazing service to humanity so that we can all understand it better. Thanks !!!

There was an episode on black mirror which involved a ton of AI. Humans worked all day and were locked in these tiny rooms with a bed and the walls were basically a TV screen. I hope we don't rely on it so much to which we forget how to be humans through communication, feelings, and helping out others Etc

@RavenAmetr5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jabril! Thank you for the course! One thing I would like to bring up in regards to your statement that, we even don't know how to make A.I. solve some of the narrow tasks, so the general A.I. is probably too ambitious. Nevertheless, In my opinion, we cannot solve these tasks because our AI algorithms are not general enough. E.g. to make a fail-safe speech recognizer, we need to make it not just guess world based on the hardcoded probability distribution, but also "understand" the context, which would require some kind of model of reality, complex enough to be learned, not designed.

I'm a computer programmer and technologist. A.I. does have potential to do a lot of good in the world. However, like any other tool, it can also be used for evil purposes as well. Since the directives of A.I. are established by people, it is not a question of 'will A.I. be used for evil' but rather 'when will A.I. be used for evil'. I thought that dislocating so many in the work force was bad enough. Please don't get me wrong. I enjoy working on technology. I believe that with additions laws and oversight, we can limit the evil side of technology.

Think of it like this, the more people get replaced, the more jobs open up in other places. More money for the average person due to lower prices=more people with money to spend elsewhere. Usually in the art department, and people with extra money will want to spend it
@TheLincolnrailsplitt5 жыл бұрын
More jobs? AI will eventually do all of them. How will people make money?

Process automation to hyper automation In 2020, we would begin to see the rise of hyper automation, which is the meeting point of intelligence driven by AI and ML with autonomy driven by robotic and cognitive process automation. Hyper automation would help support dynamic and complex business processes including loan processing, insurance claims, warehouse dispatch and others. This would provide the unique advantage of mimicking user actions on terminals like carrying out transactions and generating dynamic content contextually to deliver on speed, accuracy, reliability and reduced costs.

Hate to scare folks, but watch for Autonomous Flying Cars (AFC) to become widely used before Self Driving Cars (SDC). Why, you ask? Good question. It's actually quite simple.....the level of technology required to safely travel via SDC is far greater than AFC due to the much greater number of uncontrollable variables that SDC's must contend with in the very confined 2D roads. There are no dogs or kids darting across the road when flying, and all travel in that space can be fully controlled thus providing efficient, adequate separation. Once the Big Money decides AFC's will be the sure winner, watch for an exponential rate of development in that technology (assuming that rate has not already been achieved).
