3 take-aways from watching this footage: 1. Bridges/Overpasses ice up faster and are far more treacherous than roadways. 2. Just because you have a 4X4, or an AWD vehicle it does NOT help you stop any better. 3. Almost all of these people were driving WAY too fast for conditions!

Stay at least 2 car behind, don't tap or slam on your brake that's how most spin out happen, SLOW TF DOWN, never hang behind a driver blind spot, hate those kind of driver

I know, right You don't need a radar gun to see that they are driving WAY TOO FAST for conditions. And you can't keep saying its black ice that made me crash, because it that was the only factor, 100% of the cars would ALWAYS wipe out.

90‐95% of these could have been avoided, if people would just SLOW THE HELL DOWN!!!!! It's that freaking simple!!!! I see it on the highway every single snow storm. Plowing snow on the highways for 24 winters now and excessive speed is the biggest reason this kind of stuff happens. Sheeple never learn.

Remember folks 5:51 Just because you where able to avoid one accident does NOT mean you should risk flying across a freeway. I witnessed this same thing myself. Jeep owner was able to get himself out of the ditch but crossed both lanes of traffic nearly getting clipped by a semi. much worse fate.

I see snow 🌨 here in Minnesota and I stay home because some people forget how to drive just look I went out with my dogs this morning to have a smoke I swear this car was going 100mph I had a feeling he was not going to be on the road long

Most of these accidents are from accelerating too hard on icy conditions. you should be coasting more often than not. Just a slight tap can get yur back end out.

Our last winter weather event everyone paid attention and stayed home in NWA. We were iced in for a week. Sure you would see a few cars out by mid week, but the first few days no one was on the road. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Ice doesn't care what car/truck you drive.

​@@debrasorg5996 semi should've been going way slower then that anyway & with a plow to his right & a van right behind it, assume the driver of the van will merge into your lane. As a semi driver, he has to be the defensive one on the road being cautious about everyone & everything, especially in this weather. Source: former semi driver.

In Germany we use winter tyres - we talk from O till O talk "Oktober bis Ostern" (October till Eastern) depends our climate zone. We not have more colonies nor tropic islands (e.g. Bismarck islands, Namibia). But in the U.S.A. they looks only Florida Fox News ...

Unless you live in MN, you should be driving through there at all during winter season. I totalled my car there, then they billed me for damaging the guard rail, when MINDOT didn't treat the roadway.

@@bbranett2188 in this video, was the FedEx van or the truck speeding? Your theory doesn't make sense. The one meaningful think that you could've said, was to not be on the roads. Then this means that MINDOT should close to roads. Or, if not, then they should treat them with a de-icer agent, like they're supposed to.

I don't think highways should be open during a strong snow storm...they should temporarily close them until crews can clear them out...there are always back roads to take .

A lot of it is ppl are slamming on there breaks not light steps lil pressure not a full heavy foot. Slow down and slow down and move over, pay attention to your side not the accident on other side, only your side be concerned about and with.

For the vast number of cars on the road in these conditions the number of accidents is very low. Most drivers are not bad but there are plenty of others driving too fast...............

I LOVE living in south Texas! If I wake up on a cold morning ("cold" = about 40° F), look out the window and see even just a dust-bunny floating down... I just roll back over, crawl back under the comforter, and mutter "...well, I'm certainly not driving in THIS $#IT!" 😂🤣

If you can’t drive stay home. Otherwise take driving lessons from us people that grew up driving rear wheel drive cars. These cars have all wheel drive, stability control and traction control but yet there they are, in a ditch.

I would bet anything that 99% of the vehicles showen, in videos like these, have all-season or All-terrain tires on, insted of winter tires. Most people don't even have it cross their minds that EVERYTHING freezes at 32f/0c or below, this includes your tires. A/S and A/T tires are like plastic wheels on a matchbox car when below freezing. It all has to do with the type of rubber compunds the tires are made with. While this won't 100% save you, I think it would cut down on winter crashes by 50%+ if people actualy used them. Buy winter tires and increase you safty factor by 50%... Seems like a no-brainer to me.
