When I was a child, we used to sing this in daycare. I misheard and thought the words were “You get a lime and I’ll get a bowl” so I thought the song was about making limeade!

How in the world this is not number one on the country and bluegrass charts blows my mind. You can't do it any better than this. If you call yourself a country fan and if this doesn't get your heart pumping you need to go back to the pop or the rap station. Country music is not about how much Red Bull you can drink how fast you can rap about the mud tires on your truck. How much weed you can smoke. I guess that's the reason Willie Nelson didn't make number one a whole lot. A little bit of cocaine never hurt country music it just fed it up a little bit. Thank you Waylon Jennings for all the joy you brought me in millions of others.

First time I was introduced to this song was in the Army when folks were using it as a marching cadence. Hearing BS + Kay Brothers sing it definitely lends a delightful rosy tint to my nostalgia kick. Thanks for this, and keep up the great work!

First and only time I heard this song was on The Andy Griffith Show. Then I was watching SouthPark it was done again as a joke. I had to look up the actual song and this is one version. I had to sing it to my phone to find it.

What kind of Appalachian apparatus did they rig the base with to allow it to be played on the move? I told my daughter she couldn't play in the marching band.
