That was really fun. I love the way you weave lots of personal and business facts into a relaxed conversation. Good job, Cammy and Iona. You're a great team, and gifted at putting a diverse array of people at ease, to share their lives with us. Always a treat to see Lizzy and your boys. Waiting now to see your wee Bonnie.💞

I grew up in Aberdeenshire and had an obsession with castles, so I decided to study Celtic Civilisation in university. I then went on to do psychology. I got a job in a psychiatric hospital but hated it. However, I have always wanted to have a farm...it is still an ambition but money will dictate whether that can happen. I don't really use my Celtic degree in a job either, but I have written articles for magazines in the past and it's still a big passion of mine...I am considering creating my own magazine some day, because it's a shame to just not use something that I spent so many years working towards. I love English and languages as well.

Enjoyed this one. Nice to hear other points of view. Great to see young farmers enjoying farming & making the most of what they have but looking to the future as well. I wish I live close by to pop in. I'll have to pop to his channel and take a look. 👏🐄🐑🌾🤩

Fantastic Vod-cast . 😊 I came across Cammy when he buried himself in Crawfords barley in his barn. So you have to thank Crawford for me watching you and your KZbin channels.😊😊 Thank you all. PS seeing Lizzie and the Boys.😊❤

Great job, some excellent points made again. I agree 100% with the need for life lessons in school also lessons the kids want to do will get such better use from and results. Also, not everyone is academic. A lot of us are more for manual and skilled work, not on paper for 3 to 5 years. You're so right on the environmental impact the Uk has on the world. i think i heard it's just 1%. Wow, what a huge difference we will make when all our targets are met 🙄 and our prime farm land is lost. Im sure the powers that be do not want us to feed our own country or they would be behind all UK farmers. Also listen to how the land should be managed as it has for millenia by farmers!. Thank you guys 💜

Cammy….I so agree with you about the maths. I studied physics at university because of my love of maths. There is no maybe or grey area - it’s either yes or no. Black or white. Logic Rocks. I used it to learn practical things like taxes and business management…and it’s suddenly becoming a valuable skill set.

Gidday Men, love your work ❤ The reason the grain price is so volatile is as you identified, it's a commodity which means it is traded on the world stock exchanges meaning speculators and hedge funds are trading for bargains driving prices down and up for profit dividends. It's crazy our lives are affected so badly by a speculator on what he thinks will occur in 2 or 3 years. Keep up your great youtube shows. I look forward to seeing them daily. Took a steak pie back from the shop a couple of weeks ago when we popped into the cafe for lunch - super tasty. We visit sometimes when we're in Perth to see our daughter. Yes we had to queue a wee bit but worth while & perfectly managed. The set up is impressive but still has the personal touch, sadly lacking in some places that grow too big.

Excellent podcast. Interesting to hear two young farmers acknowledging what our politicians are incapable of, realising that whatever happens on this tiny island of ours makes not a ha'porth of difference to global pollution/CO2/greenhouse gas levels. Why oh why can't they get it? Would it it good if every schoolchild had compulsory lessons in economics? £180 for a tonne of wheat or a single fat lamb? Is one easier to produce than the other? Excellent!

Mid 80's NZ stopped farm subs...best thing ever, many farmers went golfing or fishing everyday...the pain was horrific but it got the land back to real farmers and production increased

Iona when you speak to children about farming as a career maybe you could consider rural medicine and other career options in rural areas that could include farming OR in New Zealand the schools had agriculture projects where the students may raise an animal or crop so that the children could have a respect for what is involved especially if the garden is outside vulnerable to weather and pests Just a thought ❤ Am loving the vlog even if some words fly past my American ears😂

Guys, check out Gabe Brown, Will Harris, and a few other regenerative farmer/ranchers who have been able to stop spending money on inputs and are growing soil, crops, and ruminants of all species. Putting animals back on the land and using adaptive multi-pasture grazing techniques to fertilize. Using 20+ species of plants as a cover crop in preparation for the crop you want to plant. Love the farmers and ranchers and the amazing work you do.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if schools had farmers of all areas of farming, in to give kids the source of everything that ends up on their plates? And explain that it doesn't come from the supermarket shelves.
